Default Flywheel installation

did a search, NO how-to's........ok.....i have an LS motor with automatch tranny....i have removed the tranny and i am installing a manual flywheel.....can somebody point me in the right direction on how to install the flywheel and remove the "flex plate"?? thanks in advance

correct me if im wrong but i think you are supposed to get a torque converter and not a manual flywheel.

no nono.....heheh....let me explain....i'm putting a 5speed LS tranny onto this motor.....so, i would need the manual tranny flywheel.....therefore, i need explaination on how to remove this auto flex plate, then install my manual tranny flywheel

It's very simple. Just unbolt the flex plate and put the flywheel in it's place and bolt it back up. Make sure to have a manual handy so you know the proper torque amount and sequence.

Also, you should get some manual tranny flywheel bolts because they're longer than the auto bolts.

true the auto and manual bolts are different lengths.

auto = short
manual = long

http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org has a pic of both setups and the item descriptions list them as different lengths too. Thats why so mnay guys here get pissed when a dealer gives them bolts that have AT stamped on the heads, shorties, unusable with a manual tranny flywheel install, DOH!
