Adjustable Upper Control Arms - Need your opinions and input
I'm researching the possibility of constructing some adjustable upper control arms for civics/integras (possibly more if there is demand for it). I would like to produce something that will not slip like the Skunk2 kit, yet does not cost $450. I was thinking of using threaded ends in place of the Skunk2 system. Replies can be left here or emailed to: jenkinrp@jmu.edu . I hope to have a few sets for prototyping available in a few months.
Thanks in Advance,
RJ
A. First, i would like to have some information about you.
1. Name:
2. Type of Vehicle:
3. Use of vehicle (autocross, street, show, road race):
4. If raced, what class:
5. How much is your vehicle lowered:
B. If you could, rate from 1 to 5 the importance of these items as well as providing any subjective opinions on the matter as well (i.e. for "color" you could say "i prefer black").
1. Cost (and how much you would pay)
2. Weight of Product
3. Ease of adjustability (on car / off car)
4. Range of adjustability
5. Type of material (steel vs. alluminum)
6. Color
7. Finish (painted, powdercoat, polished)
8. Are you currently using a similar product
9. Would you be interested in a new product
10. Type of mounting to vehicle (rubber bushing, poly bushings, helm joint)
11. Included upper ball joint
12. Gaining additional camber (not lowered very much)
13. Reducing camber due to lowering
14. Serviceability
15. Ease of installation
C. If you currently use a similar product (Skunk2, Ingalls, Auto Specialty) could you answer the following questions?
1. Are you satisfied with its performance?
2. How would you improve on its performance?
3. How would you change the design of the product?
4. How much did you pay for this product?
5. Is this product adjustable?
6. If so, what is the range of adjustment?
7. Any other comments about your current product:
Thanks in Advance,
