Hey i have a 91 hatch and its been sitting for 6 months now.. i am changing the ownership for it and was told i need a e test and safety in ontario. so i started driving it about 3 days before the test and i used hi test fuel and a stabalizer. just before the test i drive it for 20 mins on the hwy and it still failed. they said that the cat just might be plugged and it will have to be blown out??? but can anyone else give me a anwser? thanx

 

Original engine? I've heard of OBD1 engines having lots of problems with emmisions.

 

We need some HC,CO, and/or NOx numbers to better help you.

 

just get a new catalytic converter. i passed emissions in illinois with a 2.5 inch high flow cat, and we have strict emissions here, or so i've heard. not totally sure on that one, but i would definintly replace the cat. are you getting any code's on the ecu?

 

k heres what i failed HC and Co HC was 116 and CO 1.39

 

Sounds like you need a new cat, were your NOx readings nearly over the limit?
