Default Question about struts

Just a quick question. Tokico ilumina struts for $250.00. Is that a good deal, or could I get better?

I am sure they are the iluminas cause they are the white ones. They are on ebay for 250.00 but they are slightly used. they have 2000 miles on them, but that is it. I have blown stock struts and my friend has tokicos and I really like the way it rides. Just wandering if it is worth it.

I would suggest that you look into the warranty Tokico only has year or something
Koni has lifetime

But used is used...... you just have to look at the price.....
If the used tokico 5way are cheap....... then so be it.....

Also depends on if you can do the install yourself.....

good luck
cheers

tokico's warranty is lifetime as well, but both tokico and koni warranty only applies to the original buyer anyway.

its not worth buying used shocks. they can be damaged and reliability drastically reduced without any outward indication, especially by just a crappy digital photo. for the price of the auction still at $250+, its not worth it since a new set is $400.

oh well, looks like you already bought em. good luck.

but, just to rub it in, i did get my set of illuminas new from carparts.com for $260... took advantage of their price match and -10% guarantee, when they called the other vendor, they must have asked for the blues pricing instead and so just gave me the price of the blues. idiots.... dont think of trying it again, they dont price match anymore, and it was probably a fluke or a joke by the vendor i had them compare to.

i would suggest you not buy them if they are used... even slightly... you have no idea what they may have been through... if you're staying stock height then you really don't need adjustables... you can pick up some brand new kyb gr2's for about the same price... they aren't adjustable, but they are new

The seller doesn't have any negative feedback and like 45 positive ones, so I don't think there is anything wrong with them. Also I'm not at stock height either, I have a 2" drop.

one more reason not to buy them... imo koni yellows are the only strut good enough to handle a 2" drop and last

yeah, for such a low drop youll need to modify the shock by taking off the brake hose brackets so you can push the lower fork up a bit. it can be done easily if you know how, if you dont know how, you probably didnt understand what i said.
