Default KYB Super Gymkhana coilover struts???

I has seen someone posted some pics about buying these a while back, so i tried to use the search and had no luck.
the struts were coilover type (steel i believe)

does anyone know where i can get some info (in english) about these

i saw pics on some japanese website that had a "double adjustable" version that was all aluminum

heres the only pics i could find
steel bodied

aluminum bodied

i am especially interested in the aluminum type for my EG hatch

heres the website where they were found
http://www.cs-compe.co.jp/02shopping/kyb.htm

thanks
-scott

What do you need to know?

Try searching in the Archives under the username "Wai"

What kind of info do you need? I'll try to give you as much info as I have:
Threaded steel body, monotube short stroke with 45mm valve diameter, 4-level adjustability (1 softest, 4 stiffest), weigh about 3kg each, can handle HIGH spring rates.

i saw pics on some japanese website that had a "double adjustable" version that was all aluminum
The "double adjust" is twice the price of the steel one. But besides being aluminum, it is also bound-rebound adjustable, adjustable shock length (same shock travel when lowered), and pillowball uppermount. And IIRC, the valve diameter is around 50mm.

what about ease of accessibility for adjustment once installed and risk of galling?

The dampening adjustment is right on top of the shaft. Just pop the hood (or the trunk lid and plastic covers) and use the key to turn the core of the shaft. If the key was lost, a flat head screw driver works fine too.

As for the risk of galling, which part are you referring to?

So how much $ are the steel versions?

and how much $ are the aluminum versions?

are the steel dampers servicable? (obvoiusly the aluminum ones are)

where can they be obtained?

do the rear dampers come with helper springs like the pic, or are those seperate?

what about pillow mounts?

the steel version (the one i got) is around $750.00, Wai said the aluminum version is about double the price.

I don't think mine is servicable....at least I can't see any possible part on the damper which can be open. The helper spring you see is optional and not include from the box, so as the pillow mount.
