well if you want the oem made in canada honda oil filter, you might as well go pick up a fram for $3.99 or a pennzoil filter for $2.99 b/c they are all the same.

you can try the online places like
http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.net
http://www.ahmotor.com
etc..

or you can just go to autozone and pick up STP filters for like $3, Mobil 1 for $12, Bosch Premium for around $6.. pep boys has purolator Pure One for around $6..

I've been using either Mobil 1 or Purolator Pure One for years (and thousands of miles) w/o any problems... its easier than for me to drive to the local dealer (further and no parking for parts)....

where do they sell it for $9? my local autozone carries it for $11.99.. kragen only carries Fram and the K&N filters.. and pep boys doesn't carry it I think..

I think someone told me summit racing has it for cheaper but I didn't get around to checking

please provide a link or store name/location/addy.. thanks in advance...

OEM oil filters that say "made in canada" are made by FRAM , so if you insist on going oem at least purchase the "made in the USA" oil filter.

which part of CA are you in?

Anyone in or around San Francisco,

San Francisco Honda has 6 oil filters for $28.95

go to http://www.sfhonda.com and go to the coupon page.

The oil filter from Honda will also fit your Integra, just get either:

15400-P0H-305 (made by Filtech, not the Fram one)

or

15400-PT7-005 (Made by Fram)

Both these will fit the Integras.

i go to advance auto for a cheap filter for my 88 prelude, it only cost me $6 for a purolater filter and 3.99 for 4 qaurts of oil, so my oil changes only cost me less then $10 .

The filter element is thin and cheap.

I used to only go for OEM Honda, but now I use Bosch filters from Autozone. I hate driving out to the Acura dealer. The Bosch filters are definately top notch. I believe the filter element is identical to that of Mobil 1 filters.

so what is so wrong with the fram filters?
cardboard endcaps (could break apart and circulate in your motor), plastic bypass valve (breaks very easily which can leave your filter in bypass mode all the time), and no anti-drainback valve (oil drains out of your filter back into the motor which leads to dry start ups) to name a few.

i currently use the bosch premium oil filter but im probably gonna switch to a WIX oil filter b/c of the good flow rates. An oil filter that has great filtering ability will probably not have a good flow rate b/c the filter medium may be too restrictive which will cause your filter to go into bypass mode often, i.e. oil circulates in your motor w/o passing through the filter. A filter that has higher flow rates will go into bypass mode less often which means you can be assured that oil is almost always passing through the filter.

fram is cheap and sh*tty. have you seen the cut-outs (cross-sections) of those? crappy thin cardboard endcaps, the filter itself is poor quality w/ very little surface area. if you hate your car or don't care about it; Fram all the way. fram is to maaco as bosch is to a real paint shop.
