Default 4th gen rad flush, bolt on engine problem

Alright, I'm in gathering the troops. I've been trying to do a rad flush. The radiator drained easy as pie. I'm now on the engine block, trying to loosen the engine coolant bolt+washer and it's beating my ***.

I've sprayed some liquid wrench on the bastard, and I'm just gonna confirm that I have the right one. The bolt+washer I've sprayed and worked on is to the left of the oil filter, closer to the driver's side wheel. Is that the correct one? It's counterclockwise to loosen the bolt, correct?

I'm taking pictures so us car n00bs can have something to look at afterwards. Hopefully I can complete the damn job....

Mine's a Civic, and the drain bolt is on the front of the block, kind of behind the exhaust manifold. Most likely you are working on the correct one, but if you have one on the front, it might be easier to get at. Also, FWIW, it took a 3 foot breaker bar to break mine loose. If all else fails, just leave it alone. You'll only leave a quart or so of old stuff in the block.

why not just just keep fresh water running in the radiator with the pet **** open and let the car run till the thermostat opens a few times ... it seems like less work and it does the same thing .... anyone agree ?????

exactly, radiator fluid will flush itself through the radiator, run it at temp for a couple of minutes and you will be fine

Yeah, that's basically what I'm doing now. I'm running a flush treatment through w/ water, let it cool, drain, flush w/ water, drain and fill. I gave up, that bolt is more man than I am. Even with a good length cheater bar I found, all I was doing was stripping it and bashing my hands. Ah well, it was a good try.
