Haunted Teg...
The strangest thing happened to me last night. I got out of my car(driver's side)...left it running, closed the door casually(I hate it when people slam my car doors), when I got back I was locked out. Now this was on an LS sedan I picked up on Thursday, so I only had the one key with me, no keyless entry or anything, so I was stuck. The nearest key was 45mins away, so I tried the local cops, who very pleasantly tried for 15mins w/ slim jims, no dice. It's like 15 degrees f outside BTW. I finally gave in and had my old lady drive all the way out with another key. When I got the car back I thought little of the event, but awhile later it hit me...you can't lock your keys in a Honda from the driver's door. I even tried to re-create the incident several times...unsucessfully. You'd have to walk around to the passenger side, reach over and lock the driver's door(master) then close the passenger door. When I got out I never touched the passenger door. I felt like such an idiot at the time, but now I simply cannot explain how this happened. I offered several friends that were hacking on me $5 if they could lock the keys in my car whilst only touching the driver's door. Noone was able to collect. Anyone else have any similar experiences?
umm yes... I let my friend drive my car and after we got back he left the car running and closed my car door and the car locked.. I have no idea how it happened.. He said he never touched the locks nor did I.
my dad had to drive out to unlock mine.. But that happened about a year ago.. No problems anymore...

That's very strange.
I know some aftermarket alarms will automatically lock the doors when you start the car. But I don't see why it would auto-lock it if you opened the door and stepped out. That would be stupid, anyways.
What kind of alarm system do you have?

that happend to me in my 90 teg. It was real cold and I slammed the door after letting it warm up and i went back out there and I was locked out. Im thinking the door lock froze on me
Must be some kind of 1 in a million quirky thing. I even tried slamming the door a couple times thinking perhaps it would jar the locking mechanism and lock, though I never never slam my doors during normal operation. This is the 6th Honda I've bought and I've never been locked out...untill now.
i did that once, but i had my music on high it was my fault, i ha lost my spare keyes too. I used something to roll the windows down since the keyes where in the ignition and the car was on. We don't have a frame on our windows right.

I just installed a Clifford alarm system, I noticed that as well.
you saved yourself 5 bucks on that bet, cause if it was me... it would have happened. you CAN lock your doors by touching only the driver side door. it's a trick with all hondas (i think). hold the door handle open, then push lock.
That's the first thing the glowering Nissan driver tried. Did not work. I know it works on Nissans, I had a Sentra a million years ago, and it works on my old lady's current Altima. It doesn't work on either teg I have now however.
find a theif to help you!
no no.. i mean try holding the inside door handle open and pushing lock at the same time. not the hold the door handle from the outside like a nissan.
There's a Technical Service Bulletin that has to deal with the door lock solenoids locking and unlocking at random times. It's a normal thing that happens every now and then. If it's a frequent thing that happens you can replace your soleniod but for me it hardly happens, but it does happen.
Are you guys saying that you're not supposed to be able to lock your doors from the inside and then shut the door? I do that all the time on my 94 GSR. When I first got it, I thought that you had to lock all Honda's with the key from the outside, but not mine. On my sister's 92 civic, I can't lock the doors unless I use the key from the outside.

I do it all the time, except I use the outside door handle. I suppose the inside door handle will work also.
you can lock the driver side door if you pull the inside/outside door handle and press lock. just in case somebody wanted to know heh
