Smashed Bumper!
On my way to school yesterday (friday) I was going on my usual route when a suv in front of me steps on the brakes. I dont know why so I do too. Then all of a sudden a pile of orange cones comes around the side of him and I hit the ******* cones. I figure hey no damage so I keep on going to school. I noticed they fell off a company vehicle for Alliant Energy. I looked in my rear view mirror and see the cones smashed, not making the connection in my head. It was about 5 degrees outside. I go to my class I get out go to golds, go to BK, and finally go back to school. I decide what the hell lets look at my bumper. My jaw dropped, the cone took a nice chunk out of my bumper. You can see the compartment where the CAI is and its exposed now to the elements. I called my friend who is somewhat of a cop and ask her what to do. She said to go down and report it. I go to my class and i had a ******* quiz. I couldnt think or any of the formulas for the problems so basically I bomb it.
I go to the city's police station and ask to file a report. I tell her everything and she has me wait because she has to ask another officer it could have been in another county. I sit there and wait 20 minutes(felt like hours ever had to wait in a PD). So then she gets me on the phone with some lady in that county and she asks me where it happened and I tell her where so I did. Then she asks me to give the phone back to the other lady. After they talk she says that I have to fill out a form and send it in. Total waste of my ******* time going there. I get the from I sat down to fill it out. And it says "Continue only if there is over $1000 worth of damage"
I called the company and there are going to call me back on monday. I asked the representative what will happen and she said that I will just get in touch with their insurance co. and work things out.
#1 Is there over a $1000 worth of damage for a smashed bumper?
#2 Is there a chance of me getting screwed over?
#3 How do I prevent myself from getting screwed over?
#4 What should I do about my CAI filter being exposed to the elements?

oh trust me, you think some rubber piece of **** will not do damage. will one day i was on the 91 freeway and next to the fast track and the traffic was ******* stop. i said **** this i went over the cones at ******* 5 mph and left a ******* sratch and dent in the car. i could not belive it, but i am getting my car painted so nomore of that ****. i would called the company and tell hey you ******* drop a cone and it **** up my car. start bitching at them maybe they will replace it for you.
If it's only the bumper that's damaged, you don't have $1000 in damage - maybe $500 tops. As far as getting dicked over - it could either way, although I wouldn't be surprised if they told you to **** off.
Good luck either way.
Good luck either way.
