Yes this happened to me. Its the sun roof motor. I took the fuse out to keep me from trying to open it after it did this in my CRX

ok, I've said this before, and not to sound like a broken record or give bad advice, but I advise you clean the hell out of the moving parts before you drop money into something else. It is cheap and may fix your problem. Mine did the EXACT same thing (opperates fine except going back down in)......it was a bummer when I opened it right after I got it and it stayed up, LOL. But anyway, the car ended up at a bodyshop, and the guy just cleaned the track and probably some other stuff. Be sure to lube it up well after.
I don't know much about how the mechanical aspects of the sunroof, so rely on other people for that. Good Luck!

This was also happening to my sunroof, so my friend and I checked with a local parts store and they advised us to use a certain type of oil/grease spraycan. After spraying every part that we could see, we tried the sunroof and it closed and opened without a single hitch.
I believe what everyone is saying will work for you, I've had two CRX's and they've both had this problem. I haven't felt like cleaning out this one yet, but knowing how your sunroof opens and closes will make it an easy temporary fix (in case the rain is coming or something).
There are hinges on either end of your sunroof, if you apply the slightest amount of pressure with a small flat head screw driver (basically just touch it with the screw driver), and it will slide down into place. If you want I can take a picture of the hinge.

Still haven't forgotten about you. My computer died, and I've just got it back up and running again. I'll have those pics uploaded onto my server for you by the end of today.
It is difficult for me to get a good picture since the opening for the sunroof is so small. There is a bracket that folds up inside of this part of the sunroof shown above. If you have someone sit in your car to open and close the sunroof a few times, it will become obvious how this part works.
The small bracket/slider part slides down and in when you close the sunroof and out and up when you open it. On my sunroof, the passenger side would stick open approximately 3/4". I took a small screwdriver and applied the slightest ammount of pressure to the slider. The sunroof will move down accordingly with how much pressure you apply. Once it slides, you can lightly press it in with your fingers.
After I popped the slider into place that one time, I haven't had any problems w/ the sunroof sticking.
Thanks for the picture, I'll have to get a look at that while it is working before I am left wondering exactly what it is supposed to be doing.
Now I know where to look, too! Thanks again!

No problem at all! If that picture isn't good enough for you guys, just let me know and I'll try and get a better shot in there with the macro function.
