Well, over the past year i was only able to put ~3500 miles on the R
its not a daily driver...my plans this year is to track the R extensively
starting with VIR in late feb., it will be one track event every other month
for a total of about of about six events...so i decided to remove both airbags
and install my momo corse and blocker plate ( these two items were purchased
quite sometime ago)
only now, after having installed everything, i'm having second thoughts
good choice or not...lmk what you think
thanx

Passenger airbag will not deploy if a non-SRS wheel is installed.
Nope, you're a DuMbAsS Marc...
I'd never be caught dead riding around with you.
For totally different reasons of course.
I'm not fond of how I look in white cars.
Black is more my look...See ya Sunday.

track only car - go for it
street driven car - i would not do it, went to the gym last june at 9pm like always, 1 mile drive, and a suv ran a red and hit me head on and totalled my svx, my air bag deployed and saved me from face banging my steering wheel. Never know when the moment will happen, if ur driving on the street it could be any moment. If its a track only car then uve deleted all those chances of the unfortunate city accident happening thus maybe eliminating your need for the airbag.

i've been hit so many times i dunno what i'd do without my airbags. i'd just take out the passenger one if any since i wouldn't have anyone sitting with me

question... lets say you only track your car... would it be wise to remove the airbags if you're still using the stock seats and seatbelts?... i always thought people with harnesses and rollcages removed their airbags because the harness negated the need for them... if you're still using the stock seatbelt however wouldn't having the airbags be safer?-rob
No one needs airbags.
It's another one of those things that is mandatory ONLY in America, land of the whiny people who can't fend for themselves.

One of my frat brothers was driving his 92 Prelude SI in circles waiting for some friends and his bag just went off by itself. Knocked out some teeth when his arm hit his face. Not to mention deep tooth marks in his arm. Not sure on whether I will go with an aftermarket wheel yet.
Airbags Saved my life in an accident once where my cousin didnt make it out alive.
Use the bag...it cant hurt. Personally im *** scared of getting into any car without airbags.
Orr....cant u do like a steering wheel swap right at the track..or is that too much work...sorry im not a tech guru like others..just my 2 cents

Airbags have been statistically proven to save lives ...
Wait. Weren't crumple zones and other features added/improved during the same time airbags were introduced which might flub numbers also?
Now, I know it's an additional safety feature but I know more people who have been injured BY airbags in accidents than otherwise. So you know why I was asking you to look for that hub for me.

hmmm this got me thinking. I plan to track my car extensively this year as well, but I dont have an aftermarket wheel or the tray blocker. Obviously on the track there are many scenarios that can occur causing the airbags to deploy, so how would I go about disabling the airbags just for the track day since I wont be removing the bags permanently? Is there a fuse or something I can unplug to disable them?
Passenger airbag will not deploy if a non-SRS wheel is installed.
For the record.......a friend of mine got into accident, he has a momo steering wheel on driver side, and the pass. airbag did come out.
