My budget for the engine and tranny is around 2,000. I would like to get it to run at least 13's.

It'd probably be cheaper to get the b18 out of an old integra. Plus, the wiring won't be as much of a pain (I think).

Just to clarify, the DA integras had a B18A (90-91 had OBD0 130Hp; 92-93 had OBD1 140Hp).

The 3rd gens had the B18B (142Hp)

You really can't go wrong with either. You'll probably experience about the same time with the B16 being a bit faster with the basic bolt ons. If you get a B16 and get i/h/e and some good cams and tune them properly along with some weight reduction, 13's is a very realistic goal. That is not too much of a big budget.

Go with a B18A you might want to budget a little more money than 2000, never know what can happen with a swap
