No need. I replaced my radiator fluid with water and water wetter that is more than enough. Poor cold performance though. Good in the hot AZ summers.

I really wouldn't waste your money; I looked it in to it.

If anything get an oil temp. gauge and see how hot your oil is really getting; then make a decision on whether you need the cooler or not.

The other option is to run on the track with your heater on high.

Jack (B18CRr) says he sees a 15 degree drop doing this vs. not.

That would only effect water temp, not oil temp right?

By cooling the water, you'll indirectly cool the oil. It does help, I've done it.

That would only effect water temp, not oil temp right?

I've seen oil temps as high as 260 degrees....WITH an external air-oil c00ler...usually its 240 degrees...which is still damn high...if you track often then getting an oil c00ler is a good investment, IMO. Much better than an upgraded radiator...

TypeR already has a very capable unit, and I would upgrade to a water wetter and distilled water mixture (with less antifreeze) first.

then get a temp gauge and (on a side note) a catch can too.

Just wondering, do you have an oil temp gauge?

Unless we are doing some real racing....."Real Racing" Ex. Speedvision or 24hour Touring Car racing where the car is just a race car and only drives on track. I would not put a oil cooler on a ITR, it does fine with stock cooling.

If you need to see your temp. go down get a Low Temp thermosat and Radiator Cap....My car runs one mark down from stock while under extreme conditions. ex. track! Just .02$

Its not as good as a decent oil cooler. The stock one is just a heat exchanger with the coolant. Plus, youll get an extra quart or so of oil capacity.

http://www.sportauto.cc/Oil-Cooler/a...ooler_text.htm Here is the oil-cooler I installed. I noticed that my oil temp went down dramitcally after the oil cooler install. At my last Nasa event @ Limerock in November my oil temp rarely hit 200 degrees while prior to the oil cooler I was seeing ~250+ deg .

And you have an oil temp gauge to back this up right?
