by far used itr/prelude/accord v6 calipers

you can land them for under 200 easily. and get new rotors from fastbrakes

with good pads, you will not need much more braking power

dont waste your money and get something more than you need.

if you still want to spend more money, get lightweight wheels and the stickiest tires you can afford

Yeah, sticky tires make a big difference. I'm running lightweight 15" rims with Falken Azenis, and the stopping distance kicks ***, even though those rims & tires are heavier than my all-season 14's. This is with stock brakes using cheap AutoZone pads and those Azenis tires made it stop on a dime. The brakes don't stop the car, the tires do. The only reason I'd get bigger brakes is for the better heat dissipation. I overheated my brakes pretty bad when I went out to the track, but Type-R's can run the same track for a lot longer without a problem.

why are the itr or any bigger stock honda brakes better, bigger piston lighter what makes them better.

Larger rotors have more surface area, so they dissipate heat better. They also make the caliper apply more braking torque because there's more area to grab and even if the caliper doesn't use the whole surface, it still always grabs the outer part of the rotor. Because the path around the outer part of the rotor is longer than the inner part, the force that the caliper applies to the outer part will basically be amplified. It's similar to gearing, but instead of trading RPM for torque at the wheels, this is trading distance (that the pad contacts) for braking torque.

um don't spend money on wilwood-aem or any other big brake kit for that mattter. if you want two piston calipers all you need is a pair that came off a v6 accord. the stock rotors on the accord wil fit inside the stock fifteen inch rim and the calipers are the smae design as the type r. plus there is very little extra parts needed to do this swap. at the smae time spend 100 bux on steel lines an i think you'll be happy after it's all done.

also drilled and slotted rotos are a good wy to increase stock braking capacity. they have more edges which will allow the brake pad tohave more grip. plus these will disipate heat a lot faster than a solid/blank rotor. my suggestion is brembo uncoated slotted and drilled for rotors

no its single..so is the accord.

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=409285

for the best bang for the buck you can get the fastbrakes kit like i did. with either itr calipers single piston or nsx/legend 2 piston calipers(what i got). i spent about 350 on my set up. dont waste you money on slotted or drilled rotors. go look in the itr forum. most of the guys there just buy autozone 20 dollar rotors.

but if you are on a really tight budget just get a good set of pads and you will be set

they arent on the car yet..i just got everything yesterday..im still waiting for my junkyard calipers to come in.

you dont need to buy them from autozone. i was just gonna get them from a junkyard. i got them for 80 shipped. but i wanted to rebuild them so i went to autozone and then i found out the kit was like gonna be 30 or 40 bucks...and a rebuilt one was 45 for the whole thing!...with a core of course. so i just got those and im going to give them the ones i got from the junkyard. the core was like 60 buck. so i actually paid autozone like 200 for the calipers but i will get like 120 back then i give them the other ones..

at first the prolly wouldnt...but they might after the company tries to rebuild it and they realize what it is haha. but by that time it might be too late to figure out who it came from.

well whenever you buy anything from there you have to give them your phone number and personal info. if you payed in cash and gave them a fake name and address i dont think they could track you hehe

you arent going to see much of a difference useing the stock calipers. better pads will help quite a bit tho.
