Default Mugen Twin Loop exhaust or Skunk2 exhaust

Tried the mighty search button but it didnt like me

Ok, I've seen good gains from the skunk2 exhaust from the turbo mag but I'm not sure what type of gain I would get from the mugen Twin Loop.

I like the style of both but not sure the sound level of both exhaust.

I'm looking for gains + noise level (as in quite) If you ever had any experience with either exhuast or both. Please tell me your thoughts about these exhuast.

thanks

the mugen twin loop will be alot quiter, the loop is a silencer. and i heard the performance is there too, but it is really expensive

Yea with that mugen badge slapped on the side, i would imagen a pretty high price tag.

But skunk2 also.. But i could always get a silencer for the skunk2 if its a lot cheaper and the gains are just as good or better

If you are made of money then get the Mugen. I had the skunk2 but I sold it and installed it to my ex roomate car (00 LS). Its a little loud but it sounds great (I think a little better than my Apexi N1). Personally I would get the skunk2 and put the rest of $$$ towards other mods.

Well right now.. I finished school and im working full time.. so im pulling in decent money right now with minimal bills. So im not too afraid of the 1000 price tag on the exhaust.

But I'm leaning towards the Skunk2 + Mods thingy

Invidia RS*R makes the skunk2 exhausts. Skunk2 just rebadges them the invidia RSR is mass cheeper and the exact same thing
100% stainless mandrel bent, and kick *** welds.

I have the Skunk2 exhaust on my gsr and it sounds great. yes it is kind of loud but its a good loud, nice deep tone to it.
I could feel the gains after installing it, just need a hi flow cat now.

Like they said, the twin loop is gonna be alot more expensive than the skunk2. But as far as that goes, i guess its ur opinion ultimately, i actually like both, and to tell ya the truth i didnt like the mugen before, but its grown on me. Plus both look great on the teg i think. And yea... the skunk2 is a rebadged invidia.

I'd say go with the skunk2 + some other mods, see how you like it. If you do, then keep it, if you don't then post that sucker on the classifieds forum. I'm sure someone will pick it up. Shoot... if i had the money i'd pick up a used skunk2 from ya.

off topic tidbit: did you kno 5zigen manufactures at least some of hte neuspeed exhuasts? i thought that was kinda interesting.

get a hytech exhaust. will outperform both the mugen and skunk...cheaper than both..and low noise.

Copied Directly from skunk2 website:
Mega Power cat-back systems are constructed from T-304 stainless steel and feature Japanese Super-N1design and styling. Each exhaust is mandrel-bent using properly sized tubing for maximum flow and is finished off with a low restriction racing muffler. Most mufflers feature a single 102mm polished tip with an acid-etched Skunk2 Racing badge. Systems are available in standard and full-polished finishes. Each system comes complete with a removable silencer and all necessary hardware. Mega Power universal mufflers are also available separately.

Hope that answers ur question.

i second that. it's only 900 w/cat, 700 w/o. you did mentioned you didn't mind the high price.

note: the mugen has bottleneck(s). can't remember where. the skunk2 is a full 60mm=2.36" OD w/o bottlenecks.

i think right after the cat, and before the muffler. also the diameter is not 2.5...the hytech exhaust is aesthetically breathtaking, with performance to back up its looks. the quality is excellent..and sounds very nice...aggressive yet refined. plus the 2.5" w/ no bottle necks=
