best rotors for a gsr?
Brembo Blanks
oem or the cheapeast rotor blanks avaliable. autozone is a good one. for our cars, unless you are doing some serious track racing building up an extreme amount of heat, there is really no need to have anything else.

so would i be better off getting corssdrilled rotors or the blanks?
Power stops, 2 of my firends run powers stops, axxis pads(fully metalic) , BF-goodridge lines, and motul 5.1 bf and stop stop damn good. they have had the rotors for over 3 years now, and are just barely getting stress cracks, and they drove there cars hard, canyons freeways, track etc still
Slotted/crosdrilled rotors do not increase yout stoping distance. Rotors where drilled to combat a problem brakes used to have where the would out gas when they got hot. Now it is just a looks thing. Having driven on slotted rotors I can tell that for some reason the change the feel of the pedal, but I did not noticed a differnce in stoping power between thoose and the oem brembo's I have on the car now. The best thing you can do to help braking is New rotors, better pads and Better/new Brake Fluid. There was an aritcle in a car maginze recently (SSC?) where they add bigger brakes with slotted rotors on an RSX Type-S and incresed the stopping distance from stock.
As far as warping rotors, most of that is cause by transfer of materials from your brake pads to your rotors. Here is a good article on this. http://www.stoptech.com/whitepapers/...otors_myth.htm

I ran Brembo Blanks and Hawk HP+ pads on my car.. IMO they stopped really well and in over a year they did not warp.. they stopped REALLY well a couple weeks ago when I got into my accident... the only problem was... the guy behind me didn't have as good brakes or tires
and slammed into/rear ended me... then he proceeded to take off (hit and run)
but I was very pleased w/ my Brembo blanks and hawk pads setup...

Personally... I got mine from http://www.collettimotorsports.com (click on specials) they were (this was about 2 yrs ago) $28 for the front rotors/ea and $20 for the rear rotors/ea for the Brembo Blanks.. I think someone posted that Nopi had them for much less (not sure if it was a sale or a regular price) but it was like $16 something... all these prices are + shipping..
as for the Axxis pads I don't know because I didn't get Axxis.. but Kragen (online) you could get the Axxis Metal Masters I think... you can also contact cobalt friction/Andie (Cobalt on HT) for pricing on the Axxis Ultimate or metal masters whichever your interested in..

How are the autozone rotors any better than stock? Are they actually an upgrade or just a cheaper replacement if your oem rotors warp?

Powerslots are brembo blanks to begin with then they are just slotted. As far as warping is concerned follow some proper brake-in procedure. Be easy for at least 200 miles. Then after that try to not let them get too hot and too cold too quickly, the expansion and contraction of this is what, IMO causes most rotors to warp.
