How much is Mobil 1 going for you guys? I remember Mobil 1 5W-30 full synthetic going for like 4.99/qt, but I recently saw it at Target for like 2.79/qt.
from what i've been told you should not change back from synth to regular if you have been using the synthetic for a while, i would do as allmotor said and switch weight rather than switching to regular oil.

I used to get Mobil1 for $3.50 per individual quart at this one Wal-Mart in Nashville, but I don't live there anymore, and I don't have a job anymore while in school, so yes it's too expensive to pay almost $5/qt. around here. I switched to Valvoline MaxLife 5W-30 back in August and no problems at all.

I used synthetic for 9k miles and switched to Valvoline Max life (5W-30). I've been using it for around 23k miles already and my car is fine.

Who told you that?

hey, changing back to normal oil is fine
oil is oil
true synthetic is better
but it wont harm your engine as long as you use the right oil with the proper viscosity and temperature rating ( 5w30)
plus if you want to save your self some bucks, change the oil yourself at home, its like the easiest thing

i work at a dealership
and i remember there was a common problem with a ticking noise on this vehicle
and the manufacturer recommended that the owner switch from regular oil to synthetic oil and then switch back, and bam, the problem was solved
switching back is not a problem it is totally fine
oil is oil!
peace

but if the engine was designed for 5 30 then you must stick to 5 30
10 30 may be too thick, dont you know that

It doesn't matter. If you don't have the cash, GTX is just as good. Oil is oil. As long as you change it every 3K, its fine.
