Default real time pocketlogger for honda?

I found on DSM's that they have a pocketlogger that runs off of a palm pilot and gives real time data from the Ecu..

Everything I have seen from honda so far requires something to piggy back onto the ECU and then a lap top...

would there be a market for a palm pilot pocketlogger for Honda's?

Just curious.. figured I would ask in here since the tech people would know if one already exists or not and if it would be useful for the tuners?

I always have an interest in data logging, but then again - I am a racer and any more information I can get is beneficial.

from what i understand, datalogging to a laptop can be done with hondata, or greddy emanage, but it does require a .... laptop...
im just trying to find out the advantage of having it on a palm pilot..
maybe even making palmpilot software for hondata to display out too..

Datalogging to a Palm Pilot seems like a good idea...it is smaller, more rugged and cheaper than a laptop. Have you got a specific Palm Pilot in mind?

I know when I had my DSM, I had the pocketlogger. It was great for tuning. I could read knock levels, airflow, RPM, etc. I sold it though, and would love one for my H22...

are you running hondata?

to my understanding you have to have a obd2 ecu to have datalogging. but hondata makes you have an obd1 ecu.

arent you going to use hondata for your beast turbo project?

is that pocket dyno for honda, or for any engine?

We are looking to make one for OBDI and OBDII

we want to remove the laptop from quick tuning and for status of the engine..

enjoying the feedback, please keep it coming.

In OBD2 cars its got to be easier since you can just access the OBD diag port.
OBD1 would be a tad more difficult since you dont have that option.

how is that pdyno universal... its either a pain to hookup, or they supply the individual ecu adapters.. ?

Is this what you are talking about? It's for OBDII ISO 9141 protocol. It works great on Hondas.

but not one for OBDI since it does not have that nice little dataport..

I need one for OBDI so I dont have to carry a laptop with me all the time..
