my friend has a type r and he just got a mugen header and he said he well sell me his comptech header do u think it will fit my 95 gsr

Most things that Comptech sells they do not make themselves. Some items are sublet out to other manufactures with their name on the product.

 

um that is the way comptech used to be. they make everything in house now. their itr header is not gonna fit a gsr unles you do some welding. not worth it in my opinion. either save up for a mugen or buy a dc becasue that r won't fit a gsr without 100 dollars of work and parts.

 

Now would that Comptech ITR header fit on my GSR if I already have R exhaust from the manifold to the tip?

 

Um..... It should fit. The Typer R header is the same as the Ls, 00-01 GSR.

Like he says, it will need modifications. You'll need to plug the 02 bung on the header and get a shorter cat to fit it. Or you can use the 02 sensor in the header instead of the cat and buy a new cat with NO 02 bungs. I dont believe any CEL's will be tripped by just popping the sensor in the header rather than the cat, but Im not 100% sure.

So youll either need a new cat to fit it or you can slice the a-pipe of the ITR header to shorten it...neither of which makes it a better deal than just buying one that fits your car.

2001GSR - If you have a 2001 GSR, it will bolt up without ANY modifications. Like Tub says, 94-01 LS/GS/RS/ITR headers are the same as the 00-01 GSR headers...94-99 GSR's are not interchangeable with the above.

another ooption is to plug either the O2 bung in the header or the one on the cat and shorten the B-pipe.

 

i have a comptech itr tig weld header on my 92 integra with b18c motor no problems with the install besides i needed like a 2 inch extention pipe to fot the cat , all b series headers will bolt up to all b series heads , but sometimes the o2 sensors need to be extending , crossmembers need to be cut , or a extension adapter for 2 5 collectors , there shouldnt be any major issues at all with a 94-2001 integra

sorry to bump such an old thread but i was wondering what is the difference between the 95-99 gsr comptech header adn the 00-01 version? why arent they interechangable?

Do it, modifications needed are very simple and can be handled by any muffler shop.

I have done a Comptech ITR street header onto my 1998 GSR. Modifications consist of shortening the B-pipe 4.5" and rewelding the 3 bolt flange back on. Should cost $50-75 to do at a muffler shop. Your GSR cat (OBD1) will have an O2 bung in it and the header will have a bung in it. Choose any bung and plug the other.

Differences between GSR and ITR
1994-1999 GSR A-pipe is 4.5" shorter than, primary O2 bung in the cat. B-pipe is 4.5" longer.

Both ITR and GSR have 17.5" length cats.
