91 Integra, 95 b18b1 engine to ls/vtec, experts only please
ok guys, i have a 91 teg, with a just recently installed 95 b18b engine, i wanting to go ls/vtec and really ive searched and serched but only found what to do, and really not a firm list on exactly wut i need to buy to make this happen, from yalls opinions, what are the essentials and what is very much needed to complete this converstion, im looking for probably a b16 or anything better for the head, i mean i want ls/vtec bad, tell me wut i gotta do.
you will need to take your VTEC head to the machine shop and have the dowel pin holes in the head enlarged to fit the LS pins first. then you will need to tap the oil feed in the VTEC head with a 1/8"NPT thread and plug it where it hangs off the LS block. Use an LS head gasket. you will need a 1/8" NPT tee to tap oil pressure feed from the oil pressure sender in the back of the block. use a -6 or -8AN braided line to the fitting on the side of the VTEC head. there is a fitting there, you will need another adapter to connect the oil line to the head. Its a good idea to install a VTEC oil pump, since it will provide more oil pressure and volume than the LS pump. Use an LS timing belt, as well. Lastly you will need some sort of VTEC controller. I have an Apex'i V-AFC that works well. Be sure and tune your new setup, to get the most out of it. That's the basics, good luck!
