i have a kamanari hood, i dont want to install these hood pins if the paint will peel or crack, it is aftermarket paint job also. what is the correct way to install these, i could use tons of detail also, ive installed many things, even an engine, lol, but yet im terrified of doing these little things. thanks for the help.

Never thought about the paint doing that, good question.

 

So you painted the CF hood? It wouldn't look right with those on top of paint.

If its just a CF hood, be careful when installing them. You can split the clear coat and it will look like ****.

You can heat up the area where you are drilling so the clear coat will not split.

ok, its not cf, its fiberglass, thought i said that already, and to the idiot who said no hood pins, i need them you dumbass, my hood shakes. i wouldnt put them on if i didnt need them. im not one of those **** who buys fake ones and sticks them on a stock hood.

 

I want a fiberglass hood aswell. Is there a way of avoiding hoodpins. Sorry to bump in on your question. to me. I want it to look stock.

yes, it has a latch. but...i was in a wreck while ago with the stock hood on, it was kinda bad, hood latch was all messed up, i had to bend it back straight to latch onto the new fiberglass hood, the hood has a scoop in it so it lifts kinda.

and to answer your question, get some hidden style hood pin.
run a search under my user name, i had a post about hood pin long time ago.

 

to get this back on topic:
put a couple layers of masking tape on the hood and then drill through the tape.
