Default The DC5 has arrived to america!

http://www.evolutionimports.com/! The guy told me 29! considering that the DC2 was 25-27k! and it had premium fees. This is great. This place is very legit! I cant belive it. The cars are LHD though due to it being for DOT testing. He said he'll convert it to LHD for 2500 after it passes DOT testing.

The site says that they import LHD models, which leads me to believe that the DC5-R they import could likely be something like the watered-down Australian version.

they have to do RHD to LDH to get it to be legalize in the united states. They told me if i want after it passes all the test they'll convert it back for 2500 to RHD. Its not the australian version its the JDM version.

YOu can import just about any car you want as long as you can modify it to pass emissions, etc.

Big whoop. You can get a Skyline street legal in the US.

Wake me when the DC5-R comes from HONDA to our dealerships.

why the hell would you want a RHD car? As long as it is a true DC5R I would rather sit on the proper side of the car. (Waits gor GK to pop in)

The guy told me on the DOT or whatever applications they put LDH not RHD. They should of put both! so people could pick. They said the only gray market company that can import LHD legally is motorex.

Being RHD or LHD does not make a difference AFAIK. Both are legal to drive on the street. The biggest concerns are to meet the collision and emission standards. It does not make sense to "convert" RHD LHD, or vice versa, when there isn't anything illegal about it.

Is it me does something sound funny about converting from RHD to LHD and back again? Isn't that alot of work, or am I reading that wrong?

You're not alone.
Especially when DOT does not really care about RHD or LHD.

Yeah it's lame as hell. I don't see any point to it. My guess is they are targeting kids like the creator of this thread. It's probably a standard Integra from Japan. They do the RHD LHD swap, add cosmetics, and tell you they'll convert it back for even more money. And all you'll end up with is a slow over priced Integra that has been hacked plenty of time to keep switching the damn driving position.

They are a RI(register importer) they have to pick out weather or not they want to register the cars they are importing as RHD or LHD. I know it sounds like B.S but its belivable. Motorex did a whole different thing. Importing cars from Japan and registering them is alot harder then bringing one from Europe. They do the conversion in the dominican republic so its dirt cheap.

The cars are brand new! they arent used! its not the (RSX) its the (RSX TYPE R) or Integra Type R. You can file a fraud complaint if they send you a regular integra. The stock RSX is 23k and imagine if a type r came out it would be 28k

I bet you they are taking the USDM versions and are installing Type R parts. That is the reason for the LHD. It probably never even was right hand drive. It seems fishy to me and the story about the car is made up. IMO. Why convert a rigth hand drive car to Left hand drive? Im sure you can legalize a right hand drive car here in the U.S. I see people do it all the time. I think they are just trying to make money. They probably buy the Civic Si (already left hand drive) and slap a bunch of Type R parts on it like emblems and everything.

I have seen a bunch of info on the company. I think they are legitmate.

I also think that the LHD/RHGD topic is stupid and a non issue.

Also you can get an Integra Type-R that is no more than an RSX Type-S with Type-R suspension. It is from Austrailia so watch your self on your info.

no idea why they would convert it.. the RHD is not the problem for the DOT.. it is legal to drive a RHD car here.. vehicle impact tests are what the problem is, from everything I know..

Converting is a waste of money and time. Keep the DC5R suspension and badges, for the same price you could get Tein or something similar and not attract any more attention to your car with some red badges that will get stolen anyway.

Unless of course the DC5R frame was somehow reinforced like the DC2R, but I haven't heard anything like that yet..

OH MY GOD!!! NEWS FLASH!!..steering wheel placement (right or left) determines how good a car is, how it looks, and how it performs.. WOW.

why do these kids get so crazy about being right hand drive. oh no, a mirror image of what you have already. who cares. our roads are designed for lhd anyway. id hate to be going to vegas on roads where its legal to pass aroudn cars, and do it while being on the right side of the car. plus its harder to see traffic. get over the rhd fascination.
