N2O and iginition setups
My next mod planned is to go with a Zex dry kit, then work on iginition components.
Of those of you with nitrous, have you used an upgraded iginition system such as those by Jacobs or MSD? If you have, were they worth it? Also, what brands of plug wires do you guys recomend?
My though on these types of systems is that would only be helpful if you were running nitrous or boost.

well on plugs.not sure which brand ppl use with N2O but the guys around here live on copper ones. and youd need to go down a few steps colder i think.. yeah i am sure.. lol
I have MSD 6AL on mine with N.O.S. dry. it was well worth it while spraying, when your not spraying you wont feel a difference.
i went with Bosch plugs, just factory style, 1 step colder.

Plug wires won't make much, if any difference as long as you get a quality set. OEM ones are even good. I used the Zex plugs but what ever you do use, get a step or two colder. The ignitions won't make much of a difference unless you want to use it to retard your timing while spraying. The stock ignition works just fine. I've heard good things about MSD though. I personally wouldn't spend the money unless I were 275 HP or more.
w/ a dry kit your max is going to be 75shots. you wont really need an ignition system, but its nice to have a rpm window switch or a msd digital 6+ to retard your timing when your spraying. i use ngk bkr7e plugs w/ running a 75 wet shot of NX and my ignition timing retarded at the distributor 2 degrees.
you should worry about your fuel system before your ignition if your using nitrous. fuel supply is key. fuel pump, fpr, etc...

I'd like to run a 75 shot. Should I get a fuel pressor regulater? I didn't think that a 75 shot would be too demanding on the fuel system.
You won't need a FPR with the ZEX kit. It uses an input from the throttle position sensor and a vaccum line to raise your fuel pressure when the nitrous is activated. It also adjusts the fuel pressure according to the bottle pressure for a good A/F ratio. Less bottle pressure means less nitrous at the nozzle therefore less fuel enrichment is needed.

question on the ZEX kits. I was thinking on using this kit but was wondering how you keep from ripping the front wheels loose at take off? I know the ZEX kit works only at full throttle. I was wondering if you can flip the switch and engauge the kit while you were already in motion? Or how you keep from pilling them off? Also what all needs to be upgraded to use this kit? I already have a MSD ignition with the SCI ignition controler installed. I have a 93 Accord EX. Thanks.

def. important you wait till at least 2500... more like 2800-3000 to be safe in my opinion but anyways... if you dont wait or you load it up in a gear... you will break something.
I learned the hard way... hit a 100 shot@ 2600rpm loaded up in 3rd (
) I blew the composite intake box to PIECES on a mustang... good thing it did not bend or stretch a rod doing it.

N.O.S. says to wait until 3,000 rpm until engagement, so do the majority of tuning shops. What do you mean by "loading it up into a gear" do you mean like putting it into too high of a gear IE-5th at 3,000 and hitting it?
yeah, N.O.S. does say to wait until 3000 rpm to activate, but i havent encountered a problem yet doing so at 2500 rpm. *knocks on wood* hell, i really wouldnt care at this point, just gives me motivation for bigger and better things.
I hate to hijack a little but, when is the best time to activate with the V6? I dont plan on using any window switches or a full throttle switch.
I have a bone stock igniton sytem. NX 50shot.
However i'm running NGK BKR7E. They are awesome plugs, and gapped .034 from the factory. Only cost $2 each. go to http://www.sparkplugs.com
