anyone run a spool on the street?
Some say it stutters only when making slow turns like into a parking space or something, and drivability is ok...............although I am not sure.
I would like to know more though!

I wouldnt suggest it. I have one in my car. As long as you are going at least 5-10 mph its not to tough to turn, but anything slower and its a nightmare to manuver around. Good Luck.
we been running welded diff in our cars on the street since 98.. its similar to running a spool... ive driven both on the street, car with spool and car with welded diff. theyre both the same. the only difficult part is making u turns, u gotta go wide. besides that DO NOT LET GO OF THE STEERING WHEEL! KEEP BOTH HANDS ON IT AT ALL TIMES. if u never driven a car with a spool or welded diff, you'll figure out why. lol
its no biggie, takes about a day or 2 to get used to it. i personally think it intimidates people when your turning and the tires chirp..
good luck man!

ive had multiple welded diffs and dont see it as any big deal on the street. you get used to it fairly quick. not only are they fun at the track but they are fun on entrance/exit ramps....the diff pulls you right through the turn...no more baking off that inside tire under full throttle blasts.
i used to run a spool in my hatch, with no power steering. You get tired of it after a while. Its hard to get into parking spaces sometimes, and it tears up your tires. Its great for traction though. We took the tranny out of my car and put it into my friend's car so he could race with it. He has power steering in his car and it feels semi-normal with power steering.
You guys that welded your differentials. What exactly in there did you weld? Any good sites from hoe to's on this?
weld the spider gears or just run a good bead between the teeth on each side. some people weld the gears to the case was well, i never have but i havent used them in a high HP Honda application either. i have welded them to the carrier sides on rear ends of full size trucks/jeeps, etc., with good luck.
FWIW, i broke an axle on the street with my old welded up accord tranny and it shoot across lanes of traffic or anything. also, if i hadnt had the diff welded, i wouldnt have been able to drive it home. that one axle pulling got me back home and on the road again.

I also have a cable tranny. Crx its small. So should i go with a spool or LSD. FOr those who have spools on there street cars. Is it really a bitch to turn. I have stage 4 dss axles. I really do not think ill break a axle on the street.
