Default URGENT: Wrecked Integra Suggestion Needed

Just got into an accident today on snow. Fenders, hood, bumper, radiator must have to be replace. It's a 95 RS 4dr AT with around 70k on it. Dunno if the engine and stuff get hurt. Some cracking sound under the hood when running the engine. A guy told me it could be the transmission. But I thought because of the radiator.
And my car is not under full coverage so I have to pay for whole to repair.

Wondering if anyone has experience on getting rid of a car like this. Since I believe it costs more than 3k to fix it. I would rather sale it and get some money back and get a MT. What can I do with this car? Sale it to a salvage yard? Fix it? Parting out the whole car? How much can get from those choices? Please advice.

we cant give u a price on how much u can sell ur car for cuz it would be different per locations...and i wouldnt sell it to the junk yard cuz all u'll get it $15 for it. i would just post it on vehicle classified here on HT and see what kinda offers u get. anyway have u gotten a quote on how much to fix? or ur just guesstimating the cost?

Just came back from the body shop. It is the best in town, it costs more than 6k to fix it. So doesn't worth fixing. And my next question is, how should I get rid of the car. I asked a junkyard and they said it worth 500, and they don't even need to look at it. I wonder if I would get more money from parting it out? Please advice. It's urgent coz the towing company charges me 10 bucks a day.

It's a 4dr 95 integra with 70k on it, automatic. Everything is good except the following parts:

radiator support, radiator, front fender(R), hood, headlight(R), rear dr(L) and so on.

you could easily part it out.

best bet is to post up what you've got...pictures are always good too.

Yeah it's SOOOO easy to part out a used Integra Let's see, perfect front clip, supercharged power, new 5 speed manual tranny + clutch + a ton of mods --- of over 30 emails I got, maybe 5 had questions of information that wasnt already written in the ad.

Get ready to get a lot of stupid f***ing emails from a bunch of no-money-having punks. I've sold *one* thing since I posted -- for a TypeR spoiler. Woo hoo $40 out of $4000 (more like $40 out of $8000 but dont get me started).

Good luck with whatever you do.

LS Avenger - sorry to hear about your troublesome experience. I haven't seen your ad so I don't know the complete story.

Perhaps "easy" wasn't the best choice of wording, since I don't know the poster's circumstances.

No need to apologize, I was just on a bit of a rant there. I just figured that H-T was the single biggest forum on the web for this sorta stuff, I was offering something desireable for cheap, that I would be fighting off the serious bidders... no such luck.

It's going on ebay as soon as I get my salvage title.

Anyway, dude with wrecked Integra, you've seen my pics, contact me if you wanna deal.

I gonna take it to a junkyard in the coming Monday and get $500 back, it saves a hassle to parting it out. Although I might get more money to part it out, time to spend on taking it apart is a cost. Moreover, I have no place to store this junk.

Yeah...I know.....I wish somebody take it for 500. Better let the junkyard take the advantage. But the tow company charge me for 10 dollars a day. That's why I have to get rid of it as soon as possible.

That'll buff right out all kidding aside, theres no way that's $6K worth of bodywork. The car in normal condition is probably worth about $5K, maybe more if in really good shape. Do you have a MAACO or something cheaper --- that doesnt look like more than 2-3K of work depending on how picky you are.

You call that an accident ?! THIS is an accident

Do you guys think it worth to fix? I wonder if there are any mechcanical problem though. The belt definitely need to be changed. And the airbag poped out. It costs alot to fix. The engine was little pushed to the back due to the impact. Really need some honest and critical suggestion coz' it stays at the tow shop which costs 10 bucks a day.

its not worth the fix unless you desperatly need a car.... id try to sell it and get as much as you can.

if you do part out: how much you want for the plug wires

ahh. If the impact was enough to move the engine/mounts around then youve got more expensive problems. I thought all you had in it was bumper cap + fender + hood + rad support + radiator. Since its an RS you avoided having expensive ABS parts which is right where you got hit. But with the airbag(s) going off, plus it's an automatic which makes it a liability for parting out (most hybrids want manual), the car's worth maybe $1000-$1500 as parts, but if you arent doing your own labor then any cost benefit evaporates. Which is why the junkyard offers $500 and thats how they make their money.

That sucks. If only there was a cheap way to match up my front end with your back end, we'd have us one nice car !
