head bolt problem
i just found out the torque wrench I used to tighten my head bolts is broken. I started torqueing them to 20 lbs first...then set it to 61 lbs. I started torqueing one bolt, worked fine. Next bolt, I just kept turning the torque wrench, it felt like the wrench stopped working. Next thing I know, I feel something unusual, like the bolt is slipping a little inside. Anything I can do?
If the bolts won't torque down, they've been stretched, DO NOT re-use them and do not try to tighten them any further, you may possibly damage the threads in the block, go buy some new head bolts, and make sure you clean everything out of the bolt hole before you assemble the head to the block.
Try taking the bolt out, if it will even come back out that is.. check the threads in the block.

number one key to assembling a motor
always use the proper torque wrench.
a good torque wrench is worth way mroe then what you pay for it. A friend of mine made this mistake once and ended up snapping a cam tower bolt off in the head
All thise could have been avoided by using the proper wrench, i would say go buy a good torque wrench and some new bolts and or studs
