I am Getting a car end of this month and i have not make up my mind! sti has 20 horse power over evo but evo look better. please give me advise on what car i should get

well,..we're gettin the EVO VIII not 7--either way,..its phatty---but the price everyone thinks its gonna be is WAY WRONg!!! My friend "had" one on order from thier First Shipment(Leith Mitsu) and it went from what he thought was $28K to a wopping $34K---but its got features that I would say are worth it and a damn Boost controller would put you low 13's no doubt(on both cars for that matter)--but Stock it will run 13.8's(MKIV supra times) but the resale on that damn Mitsushitsi(hahaha) will make you Shitski!!!! It will suck!!

STi will be the **** I'm sure---300hp & 300lb ft--it will own all!! But again Like $34-$38 for that too,..watch,..everyones prices are not Confirmed yet!!! Kep an eye on em!!!!

I vote STi-although the EVO has alot of carbon fiber parts and a phatty 3-Stage HID's lighting system that follows the sterring wheel!!!

But its up to you,..both are Steap in price---I would just get the TRack Model hahaha

the evo has xenon bulbs not HID --- maybe as an accessory ----
the evo also has nasty friggin altezza style lights ---

I was so AMPED on the evo coming out BUT yesterday I saw the new motor trend or whatever stupid mag that was and the evo was on the cover -- did a little reading and the US evo started sounding and looking wack as ****. the evo uses the lancer body and they merely weld panels onto the lancer panels to make it stronger -- I hoped for a more evo look -- the us lancer body is friggin NASTY. Overall it didnt excite me. Id change my mind and say go with the STI.

If based on the engine, I will go for EVO due to the design, it is easier to get more power from EVO's engine then STI's engine. Also for STI, I think you have to use some kinda special engine oil which is for Boxer engine and the piston rings' life for Boxer engine is always an issue. Those are just my opinion, someone pls. correct me if I gave out wrong info.

BTW, i dont know where you people got those astronomical figures from, but the WRX STi will start at 29,950 with the EVO starting at under 28K. And yes, the SRi will own the EVO if subaru makes good on their claim of 300hp/300 ft lbs of tirque. If anyone got the new C&D the USDM EVO they tested managed a 14.2@98 MPH. Wow.. stock WRX territory.

.... the evo is based on the stock lancer. Always has been. And for the Evo 8,7,6,5,4,3,2 and 1 they did the SAME thing.

 

Get the EV0.
Unless you are doing JDm motor swap to the STI.

where the **** did you see the EVO runs 12.8????? it runs a 13.5 AT BEST.

and boost controller hmmm no sorry i thought so too but the stock ECU will boost anywhere from 16-19 PSI at wide open throttle.

 

Those pics of the silver car are the Evo VII - that's not what the USDM Lancer Evolution looks like.
