Default S6 Mini-Review (56k beware)

I didn't get to drive the car too much today and I can't give a full review until I take it to the track. Which, hopefully, will be soon. The car was lowered approximately 3.0 cm's all around. All the dampening settings have been left on 1(softest) and I have not touched it yet. The preload was not touched either. Upon initial review, the car seemed to almost handle the road like stock(under NORMAL driving). Very smooth, no noise from the shocks... yet. The ride was not excessively bouncy or teeth chattering. Now, I pushed the suspension a little bit. Behind my house there are some long sweeping turns that you can take at about 60mph. The car remained VERY neutral, but I could still feel a little, and by little, I mean little bottle roll. I pushed the car nowhere near the break-loose point of the tires, as I will save that for the track. At 50mph in a "slalom" like pattern, the car, again, remained VERY neutral and firm. The body roll has been minimized a lot and the preciseness in cornering has been elevated. Those are my initial impressions. More will come... later. I'll actually have to drive my car over metal plates tomorrow because of all this construction going on. We'll see how that goes. So far, the suspension is REALLY nice and comfortable from what I can tell. Again, don't take what I have said to be a "real" review. I did not push the car hard at all.

They look purty! How much did you spend on that setup. I only have H&R sport springs and I just wanted to know how much better my car will perform with something like what you havre.

Nice mini review. Man I really want to do my suspension but I'm going to wait for 1-2.5 years. O they look great.

What spring rates did you get? 12/8?

I was so pleasantly surprised by the ride comfort of the Zeals

12/8 is correct. the ride comfort is DEFINITELY a surprise.

I was initially going to get the 10/6, but I was told by mike that the ride quality is VERY similar on the street and almost unnoticeable. That swayed my vote to the 12/8 set up.

I don't.. think so. Geratol on the boards revalved his rear b6's to put stiffer rates on them (12k or 10k). Stiffer rates from the stock 8k. I am not completely sure on this.

N1-R PM'ed and told me that I should set the coil-overs to 6 in order to break them in properly. Can anybody attest this or shed light upon the matter? thanks for the info btw

i think i do remember hearing that the ride comfort on the hatch backs aren't quite as good as the DC2 chassis. as to why? i am not completely sure. but, the ride on my car is EXTREMELY comfortable. i was expecting a really harsh ride, but in-turn i got a pretty tame comfortable, smooth ride.

How low is it now? Measuring from the floor to the jack point I sit at 5" or just slightly more on the front jack point. I think they ride great. I'd say they ride better than my TEIN HA's did and they were only 8/6 spring rates.
