Almost another thef victim last night...
I noticed this morning that somebody tried to pry open my R's hood with some kind of pick or screw driver. Anyway, they couldn't open it and left my front end with some scratches and a tore hood rubber seal in many spots
I know my alarm would go off if they opened the hood but, don't know for how long depending on the thief skills, which I don't think it was too skillful because coudn't opend the hood. Looks like an amateur job to me. Now I have to look for the front rubber seal and a decent body shop.
I'm really worried because now my car is a target. If they didn't get it now, they'll look for some way to get it later. I'll keep it in storage.

i went to my local aftermarket part store in my area and they had a civic. It was fully modded and worked and what not, basically a perfect target for a theft, and it was parked in the street all the time so what he did was that after his alarm was set somehow he had about 19 volts running through the cars body (the metal panels). He actually had pictures of dead cats he found in the morning that had touched the car over night and died. he kept the pics on his dashboard so people could see. Its not even enough to kill a person but it sure would stop them from touching your car or trying anything stupid. i asked my dad about taht and he said they used to do that back in the hay day. i know if i had an R. Id have that mod before anything else. just my 2 cents
whoa, is this really possible to do? i know honda door handles are plastic, but I guess if the thief ever touched anything metal in the car (shifter, hood, door, etc...) they'd be in for a treat!
and i'm sure thats also against the law.
Tweety: Glad they didn't get away with the car

and i'm sure thats also against the law.Yes, it is. Sadly enough, if a thief is injured trying to steal your car, he can sue you!

i was watchin a report on T.V. and if a person Robbs a bank...and they take a bag of money...and it has that exploding ink in it..and it explodes and gets into the thiefs eyes...the theif can sue and make more money than he did when he robbed the bank in the first place

Dude, WTF?! How could you run power through your chassis, which is the vehicle's ground, and not fry your ECU or at least blow all your fuses?! I call BS!
Well, I would not go to that extreme of turning my car into a human zapper...although, it also sounds kind of exagerated if it exists. Yes, my car was all that afternoon in front of my business and that evening in front of my house. Not too sure when did it happen. And yes, storage is your friend and Mr. Glock 40 model 22 is as well...
Thanks guys for your words.

u might wanna look at getting a lo-jack system, if u dont have one already. then if it does get stolen you can hunt the bastard down...worked for my friend
well i dont know about the legalities about that but i know ur car would b a whole lot safer
there was a great History channel episode on the other night. basically a guy set a shotgun up to shot whoever broke into his warehouse (people were breaking in and stealing his stuff quite often). He put a warning on the door too...
some teenager breaks in and manages to get shot and dies. the owner of the warehouse is still hitting in jail
life isn't worth a material possession, but the protection of property is a key founding father ideal of the US. it's sad to see the current precedent.

My dad cought a guy trying to steal his car once. He grabbed his gun and pointed it at him, the guy took off running, my dad ran after him right behind him. He threw the riffle at him and somehow hit him in the head, the guy kept running though. The gun wasn't loaded but im sure it scared the crap out of him having a gun pointed at you.
Just get a garage...that is the best security you can have at night anyway...I think that basic common sense is one of the best security measures that you can have....
Th33v3s are going to get your car if they really put their mind to it...we have to accept that. Just don't make it TOO easy for them...
