Default Help Didn't pass emission today.. Cat? 02 Sensor? :)

Try doing my Emission and Inspection earlier this year.. and didn't pass the HC test on IDLE. Reading was 175, where 130 is the MAX number..

Here's my mod: Spoon Header with JDM Jic Magic CAT-stock Axle Back. 1 Year on header, 1.5-2 years on Cat.
Last year around May-June, I have problem with CEL 71: Fuel Injector problem, car runs on 3 Cylinder but I replaced the 1 bad Injector myself.. solve the problem..(thanks to HELMs)
a month after replacing that Injector, I got CEL 67.. so either my 2ndary 02 Sensor is bad.. or the Cat is bad..(this was July 2002)..
Knowing the CEL 67 supposedly does not affect performance, I got rid of it by using Kenji's OBD1 ECU.

Now.. I really think that the problem is my CAT.. since I bought it used..
but.. why then I failed the idle RPM test but passed the 3000 RPM test ?
is it because my car is running too rich? on Idle?
is it because my previous problem with Fuel Injector?
I wouldn't mind getting new Cat (already contacted SMSP) or replace 2ndary 02 but
I want to be sure it will solve the emission problem.

Help and give me suggestions please....
Just so you know, I did a search for CEL 67, Running Rich.. bla2-bla!..
most of you don't care about CEL 67.. well I don't.. but I need to pass emission.

Stop taking so much Ritalin - it's affecting your writing.

If you bought the cat used - i would be highly suspect of the condition internally. Try getting a new cat and a new 02 sensor.

Do you have a VAFC or anything like that on the car?

Heh.. I need Lexapro and Vagasil.. not Ritalin.

NO VAFC... everything should be Stock now.. except spoon header and Jic-Cat.

What about changing everything back to stock for the test? Should be about 2 hours job max.

Code 67: Catalyst system Efficiency Below Threshold malfunctioning or defective catalyst system

Change your cat. unless this is a recurring thing like with the carsound units.

I suspect an Injector leak on my R..(DIY injector last year)..
here's the picture of all Spark Plugs (ordered as if you are taking them out).

I notice the plugs from Cylinder 1 and 3 are dirty.. what should I do?

Then Cylinder 3 upclose:

Compared to Cylinder 2 upclose:

Did you mess with your timing before you went to the emission center? I usually turn down the timing to 15-16 before all my Honda emissions. And, I run the cat real hot before hand. (Do 70mph in 3rd gear for a good mile or so.)

Why are only your #1 & #3 plugs bad? That's weird.

I still think it would be easiest to put back the stock system (borrow from a fellow ITR owner in PA) and get it passed. Maybe IM ITR206. I know he went turbo, so he's gotta have his stock manifold and cat laying around his garage.

Before putting back to Stock Header + Cat, I just want to make sure that my Injector Install didn't do this mess..
I might re-do it as soon as the weather gets warmer..
brrr cold..

when hc is high.....your running rich....so......remove a couple of vacuum lines so it can compensate for the extra fuel. when co is high...your not burning enough fuel or running lean .....so .........adjust timing or disconnect the FPR vacuum to raise pressure........put a big fan in front and put the heat full blast without a/c on......Thats how I get most cars to pass....or get a water bottle if your NOX gets too high

i thought if your hc is high it means your running lean and if your co is high it means your running rich......
