Default Carjack 3 (car released from police)

Yesterday I finally got to see and take posession of 0969 after the cops finished their investigation.

Cig burn in driver seat
Dent and paint scratches behind driver door
Stickers, stickers and more stickers (NOS, Vtech power, AIC Racing?) all over the car and windows
Plates gone of course, time to sit in DMV for hours.
Eight ***** for tire valve covers
Asses drove about 2,400 in 14 days

I feel very lucky indeed and mechanically she seems alright. When I go get her checked out is there anything particular you folks would check out?

Thanks.

I'm still stunned that she wasn't stripped especially after reading a years worth of horror stories in this forum. Bastards drove it for fourteen freaking days and got busted in the same town no less! My insurance sent it to the total loss department the day it was pulled over. I was already looking for a replacement.

That's pretty weird.

Definitely have a compression check done, probably check or change the oil right away too.

Glad to hear you got it back with almost no damage

So will it be considered totalled or will the insurance just fix it for you?

Unless something is screwed up internally I don't think the damage will exceed my deductible.

IMO get rid of it, and find another one. If you keep it, you will always have an ill feeling about it, because you will never know what the bums did to it. They could have been ignorant, and messed with the internals.

The insurance adjuster should be coming out sometime today to take a look, but once again, unless something is wrong internally I don't think the damage is going to surpass my deduct - $500.00.

Good to hear you got it back but I could never live with a car that got jacked and raped.

She was jacked but not raped thank God. As Tweakmeister said..Lysol and plenty of it. I think I might appreciate her more since it was so lucky nothing was stolen except 2,400 miles. Back in her rightful home she is.

I've never posted much but I've always hit the R forum many times daily for about a year and learned quite a bit from you guys. It was damn near impossible to browse HTech when the car was missing.

Yeah, it's tough when people steal something you've worked so hard on.

I'll bet you'll get the thing cleaner than when you bought it off the showroom floor
