I already ran a search but didn't find my particular problem.
My speedometer fluctuates from working to not working. It will rest at 20mph when not working and bounce when the car is moving extremely slowly. Upon ignition the needle jumps to 20mph when it's not working. Sometimes while I'm driving it will kick in and read the actual speed. Eventually it will go back to 20mph. I read in a couple other speedo problem posts about a VSS. I don't know what the hell it stands for or where it is so could someone help me out. Also the problem didn't start until I had the axles replaced on both sides about 6mos ago.

yes, or another less expensive solution maybe that the screws that hold the speedo have vibrated loose and they need to be on tight to work and get the current it needs to work properly, but most likely it's the vss. go to a junk yard and get a used one. maybe cheaper. i'm at wok and i dont have my pepair manual with me , maybe when i get home i can help you find this " vss" part
here is a link that will show you how to replace the vss. http://www.cybertrails.com/~bestinth...tLocation.html
