to tint or not to tint
ight im contemplating tintin my car due to summer comin up and it will once again be hotter than hell here in florida but im not sure because i like the clean look with no tint. i have a white dc4 integra with sw388's to give u an idea of wut my car looks like.
i voted no tint because I don't think integras look good with tint..
HOWEVER, a white car with black rims may look pretty sexy with a light 35% tint all around.
Only thing i'd be worried about is the dot matrix on the rear window, hard to tint. most places just cover it up with black vinyl on the inside (considering it won't block your rear-view vision since you can't really see it in the first place).. but this way it won't look like crap from the outside -> all bubble'd up

I got my Civic tinted with 3M 50% all around. It's actually illegal, but because it's at 50%, cops can't tell. It does offer a bit of reflextive property to bounce the UV. In the hot summer it reduces glare, without being dark at all. An no ill effects at night like tints that are too dark. So it's almost like no tint.
Tinting is also a safety feature cause if someone hits you and the glass goes into pieces, the tint will hold some of it together instead of flying into your face.

Do you have any pics of the tint? Is it reflective/platinum or black/smoked ? Thanks!

wow, 50%? I haven't found anyone aroud here that does tint that light.. its either 35% or the 95% clear UV film.

The tint is basically clear, but if it was darker, it would be like a silverish tint. At 50%, there is just a slight reflective look at an angle.
I don't have a direct pic that show, but you can check out my civic web site in my profile (bio). It looks like nothing. But it reduces glare big time. Brand is 3M.
I said YES for the tint... I have a white prelude and I'm getting my windows done this weekend. Summers here are crazy too. Even though it's a white lude, the interior is black and every little bit of keepin some heat out helps.

Currently I tint cars for a living, until' I'm a network engineer. I hate it, I think tint looks ugly on most cars. But serves at great purpose, interior fade and over heat. You get dirt and any inperfects in a tint and it bugs the f**k out of you. I can do a perfect job; when I want. Most cars NEVER get a perfect job. Plus I ruin speakers when I install film (water and soap sultions), I really don't care, not my car.

I'd say tint just b/c it gets soo hot in fla..We used to live in alabama and we got our windows tinted too just b/c the heat is unbearable. Just find a reputable tint shop, one that wont screw up your rear defroster
