ZC header
For those of you with 2G CRX Si's w/ a ZC: Which header/ exhaust manifold did you go with and were there any problems w/ the stock manifold?
Appreciate the info.

Close, from what I've seen you don't have to port match the DC or Genie but you do have to port match lightspeed or pacesetter because they have smaller primaries. Just buy the DC for a 88-91 civ/crx.
Whatever header you buy for your zc make sure the O2 sensor is place on the collector as I've seen the Genie which has the 02 sensor in the stock position bang the 02 sensor on the front mount.Or if you do get a header with the 02 sensor mounting in the stock location have someone weld a bung to the collector and move the 02 sensor.
Don't buy the Lightspeed as the pipes are too small.

At our shop we find the pacesetter header to be the best for the ZC in terms of performance. The smaller primaries give you some bottom end torque and a minor HP gain at the bottom in addition to weight loss. We purchase the "none coated header", match port the header to the head, machine the flange flat and send it to HPC for a cermaic coating. (About $300.00 to $325.00 total invest). Do not purchase a coated Pacesetter for two reasons 1. it must be match ported, 2. they rust.
We have found the larger primary headers to cost you torque and HP in the true driving range of a basically stock ZC. (bored throttle body, cold air intake, header/exhaust etc.). However if you are planning on supercharging you engine ie. belt driven SC or exhaust driven SC then you may want to invest in the large primary header.

If you want the smaller tourquey(sp) header buy the lightspeed as it has the 02 on the collector ,I have used that one before and it is ok but found on the road race track that the bigger Genie performed better on the top end.The only prob with the genie is that it rusts out pretty fast AND you HAVE to move the 02 to the collector( unless they have changed the design in the past 2 years).
I have the DC Sports Ceramic Covered 4-2-1 on my ZC, I have had it on there for over 1 year and I love it, I used my Dremmel to port match the upper piece, not much work and it has worked flawlessly for over a year...

your saying a genie header rust out fairly quickly?
holey **** i paid about $430.00 for a crome header....
.it looks like a work of art compared to most headers i've seen
on the market..........
how would you rate the light speed header the one piece model now is that good or bad in quality
