Has anyone ever removed there rear seats? If so did you put something in place to separate the cabin and the trunk, if so what'd you use? Ok dumb question alright but still just curious! Thanks

*Hi Andy, I figured you would look at this*

IMO, the back looks much more cleaner and open without any rear seats and that "trunk privacy board" with nothing to block off the trunk from the rest of the car.. I removed my rear seats, rear seat belts, and separated the carpet from the back of the rear seats and layed it flat over the bottom portion where the lower seats were. It looks good and its a great excuse to use for your friends that want a ride.. It also makes that rear strut bar stand out ..

True I like the excuse that oh cant drive, two seats only, heh. But I need that privacy cause i'm gonna hide a nitrous bottle, maybe two later on. heh fun aint it?

I always wanted a two seater.....

Just leave it open, you can fit more stuff.

If you want to hide a nitrous bottle, ditch the spare tire and mount the bottle under there.

my teg is a one seater. . . . . a good excuse for no rides. everyone wants a ride in the boosted itr i hate giving rides
i used to just keep it bare sheet metal , but i just take the carpet off the back seats that connect in the trunk and just kinda lke lie it down in place of the seats so it looks like it has a nice clean flow to it .

wood = weight, if your gonna run nos, i'm assuming your using your car for performance. I'm not too sure how you would bolt up the wood to your interior panels anyways, it would look kind of awkward.. But its up to you, try finding a lighter type of material if you want to block off your trunk.. Peace

really easy -- two plastic clips on each side and then one bolt for the bottom -- takes 5 minutes.

well i would use lighter weight material but im strapping the bottle behind it so it gonna be tough enough to hold. I'm planning on using carpet used on sub boxes to cover it and use somethings here and there to keep it in place. Still just gotta find someway to get the shape. If i do end up doing this i'll post some pics, should look nice. Thanks

The rear seats are really light, probably 10 pounds or less.

27 pounds to be exact , every pound counts, I never believed I could remove soo much weight from my car by just removing simple unnecessary things (well at least not necessary to me..), now my car weighs less then a stock itr (but still no ***** yet). http://www.dohcresearch.com/AA/ntgr8d/index2.htm click here if your curious, I forgot to weigh the spare tire and jack, but you can take an estimate from there..

As for your "board covering" problem, I thought it over and maybe you should invest in a rear strut bar? Even if its a cheaper one, it will still do its job (just make sure it has a rigid frame setup), and you could zip-tie the bottle to the bar.. The bars are pretty sturdy, my friend had his Nakamichi sub tied up to his obx bar. If you have the "trunk privacy" board on (the flapping one), I don't think you can see in the trunk from the cabin, or if worst gets to worst, use a bed sheet (thats what I did when I had a sub in the back). That way you won't need an extra piece of wood in your car and it would still be safe to drive with your bottle strapped on.. Peace

thats wut i did, i dunno if its just tegs but the back of the rear seats are held on by lil snaps and when u take em off u can just fold em down like show. looks good unless the carpets messed up, your R's interior is in awsome shape, should be, no R should have a messy interior work of art

there is like a clip on each side that you pop off and the seats should pull right out
