Default Need Advice On B18c1 Choices W/ Turbo

Ok , well I have decided aginst LS/VTEC and i am now looking at getting a b18c1 motor and boosting it but would it be better to buy a gsr block and a head and have it built and put togeather or just buy a comlete motor. I figure i can get a b18c1 head for around 500.00 and about another 500.00 for the block and then get me a tranny and ecu, or should i pay out 2500 for a complete motor. Im also planing on boosting it around 8 to 10 psi so im gonna need ot build the motor any suggestions on this

I suggest staying with a complete LS motor and boost it from there..

Just less work IMO

well, i'm an LS driver myself, so i would normally just say boost the LS but if you have made up your mind to purchase a GSR whether complete swap or in parts, then i would suggest teh following. If you can really get a good shape block for 500 and an equally good cond head for 500, and your budgeting around 2500 for the entire swap, i would definitely opt for the part by part method because, you can for SURE get a really decent tranny for under 1500. I've seen used itr trannies w/ LSD go for 1100. Shoot, even worst case scenario, you can keep your LS tranny build your motor for turbo & put together your turbo setup and when you get money later down teh line you can swap out the tranny seperately. What do ya think?

you can get a full motor for less than 2500, shoot you can get an H22A for 2200....I would just say unless you have the time and experience go with the whole motor.
