Motor mounts in 97 prelude
Do you guys know what kind of motor mounts are in a 97 prelude? Reason I ask is...friend of mine blew his mounts and his motor is totally off center. It jacked up his hood and everything. Anyway, he thinks one of them is a hydraulic mount??? Any of you guys heard of such a thing? Did a search and didn't find anything. Any help would be much appreciated!! Also, if anyone's selling a hood...let me know!! Thanks guys!!
haven't heard of anything like a hydraulic mount.
anyway, place racing makes one. i have one (just the rear), not installed yet. it's pretty solid. so i have a feeling once i get it in, my car's gonna vibrate pretty good at idle. but the payoff will be worth it,

unless you got a VW you arent gonna find a hydro mount on your prelude, i used to have a vw so im used to seeing those, and when i first got my prelude my first instince was that the drivers side mount was a hydro mount be cause of the round part on top, i dunno why honda did that mount like that but it is just a regular rubber motor mount.
PS why would it matter if it was hydro or not, cause if one mount went bad hydro or no. I would think that you would just replace it.

I have the place racing rear mount installed in my car, the car shakes most of course when its cold on startup, the keys will jingle...but I've gotten used to the cabin vibration, not too bad at all. place racing's mount is solid polyurethane, so yes...pretty solid, not just an insert. One of the engine mounts is a hydraulic mount, that one has no aftermarket replacement, you'll have to grab that from honda. order it early, its pretty hard to find a dealer with it in stock...it took a long time for mine to come in. the two side mounts energy suspension makes inserts (they make for 4th gen application which fits the 5th gen).
thanks! i'll forward this info off to him. he's had a hard time with his lude. its probably going to be for sale soon so if you know ayone looking for one, let me know.
You said that the energy suspension makes side mounts for the 4th gen and that they fit the 5th gen also. Do you have these in your car because I emailed energy suspension before and they told me that they are not the same mounts and they will not fit. You also said they are for the sides and my friend has a 4th gen but they went in the front and rear.

The energy suspensions inserts do fit. I have them in my car. They insert into the front and rear mounts (the mount next to the header and the mount behind the block next to the firewall)

I bought it for my transmission swap (auto-to manual) and found that I could use my Place Racing rear mount on it still, so I never touched this new mount I have (for manual ludes)
