How'd the ITRs fair against the 350Z? Our AutoX season doesn't start until late March.

Well since it was Pat Salerno driving the 350Z only one or two drivers had a chance against him and none of us with R's were one of those with a chance.

The 350Z was in B class and took 1st in it, rodney took 2nd there as well in his civic. The Z was brand new still with temp plates and reg. But, it looked to be a very srtong contendor. Pat mentioned he felt comfortable and that it had great low end torque and he had to be a bit careful of throttle where the traction was concerned, or lack there of due to the weather.

We'll have to look closer at the times when they are posted but, for perspective The top three positions in D class (where the R's were) were ridiculously close and davidnyc took 3rd and I took 4th. I forgot what cars were 1st and 2nd (but, they weren't R's)

When the results are up we can link to it to get a better understanding of it all.

Suffice to say it was COLD and WINDY and traction was an issue with a wet frozen surface in the AM and a bit more traction in the PM when it dried and warmed up.

With the recent weather, it will get dirty soon even though I wash it. I'll wait for a week of nice weather.

oh, just compete. you don't need top notch suspension/motor/tires to run. autocross has a steep learning curve, and the sooner you start, the faster you will be. i talk to numerous people, and they say i'd run but i need better suspension, bushing, tires, intake... blah blah blah. a good driver in a stock LS will walk on most of the type R's out there, modified or not. trust me. i bet i could beat the itr's with a geo metro, and i suck....

Thats a **** poor excuse.

I have a 96 SE. I am still new to autoX only did 5 events last year.
This will be my first full year. Its not the car, that needs fixing, afterall how would you explain me having better times than a corvette...

so puttin a beaten on a car that needs maintenece is a **** poor excuse...maybe for those of you with "money" but not for a guy like me who has other priorities thas need to be taken care of first rather than damaging the car and having it towed home cause my timing belt snapped or i bent a valve etc...

my 2 penniez..
