Default H22 swap into 5g Automatic ?'s

What ecu to use? the (hypothetical) car is an LX and i was wondering if an US ex ecu will work, the engine would be JDM

Im told the JDM h22 will fit the us A/T, can i just use a fields or V-afc?

thanks

well the accord auto tranny sucks, add 55hp to it and shift at higher rpms wouldn't be good for it. unless you manually shift, the accord auto ecu will still shift at accord shift points. the jdm auto is the way to go it's stronger and has firmer shifts.

i have a 96 auto H22
i can help you in all the ways i can

email me mkteller8@aol.com

you could use a ex ecu from the accord
you could use any auto 92-95 h22 ecu
or just use the jdm h22 auto ecu

if you come across a 96 h22 auto either usdm or jdm

the ecu has nothing to do with the gear ratio, there bud.

as far as what ecu to use, you could use an accord (vtec) auto ecu
a JDM auto h22 ecu would be best though.

Just do it the right way, buy a complete swap, use the right ECU, none of this half-assed bullshit. Get a manual too, automatic honda's suck.

whats up, i have heard that there is something that you can do to the computer of the car by messin with the gear ratios and adding horses without even putting a single aftermarket piece on your car. if this is true someone e mail me back if they know what the hell thats all abouyt and could possibly tell me how to do that.

Peace, brandon

I wouldn't mind spending that much as long as it's done right with no problems.

yeah finding a shop that can do an auto manual swap properly can be difficult, luckily the only swap shop near me is very good.

oh yeah cause the swap shouldnt cost you more than 2200-2500 shipped and then youll have close to 1500-1800 for the converstion.. somewhere in the search is a full list parts of what you need..

this may sound sick, but i spent close 6,000 when all was said and done. don't forget maintenance parts and new bolt-ons. figure at least another 1,000-1,500 for this stuff and anything that may come up.

what all did you do? i mean if someone was to use stock parts , then it can be done chaaper. i mean if you want to use aftermarket flywheel, clutch, etc. then yeah it will cost alot more.

let's see i bought:

97+ lude aem cai
93-96 lude greddy header
carsound cat
act clutch
timing belts
water pump
knock sensor
97+ lude p/s bracket
valve cover gaskets
cam seals
header gasket
fuel filter
ngk wires
ngk plugs
spark plug seals
honda mtf fluid
remanufactured accord 5sp axles (luckily i got these for free)
distributor cap
rotor
upper and lower radiator hoses

there's alot of maintenance items that need to be attended. i don't see the point in buying a oem clutch, when my most peoples intentions with a h22 swap are to exceed what the oem clutch was designed for. it's easier to spend more up front, then to say damn i wish i did that later on. now i wish i did a quaife lsd and cam gears which to have installed now will cost too much v. if i did it with the swap, probably free.

lol ok i can see where six grand went. i was figuring ppl get their auto to manual swap parts from a yard of so. i am sure ppl want the best, but then again. your getting out of an auto to a stick. aint that just good enough LOL

i guess i have it lucky. where i can hope to the local yard and pull what i want. since they are a bunch of rednick's with big trucks. they laugh when i head over there for stuff. they are like..'daing car is suppose to run forever huh'. i smile and say yeah. then walk and pull parts and sensors and stuff. they look and say. what ya got there? awh that junk? lol so i walk out with it.

one day they will understand!!

Okay! time to start saving .A auto h22 would save alot of labor money but what fun would that be.
