Default JDM H22 with H22 automatic transmission who's done it?

Well since most how to's and FAQ's are for the manual tranny and instructions for auto to manual swaps what kinda of trouble will i be in when i go to do my H22 swap and use the JDM H22 tranny supplied? If you are going to say just use your f22 tranny i cant due to the tranny slipping and on its last legs. I have heard people having problems with the tcu's but i just thought i would see what it takes on a 95 accord exr.

thats what i started out with. most jdm motors these days are auto. its a direct drop with the exception on modifying the harness of coarse. and no don't use your f22 auto with it. you'd kill that tranny sooo quick that you'd regret it. if you can get the tcu for an auto h22 do so. the f series will work but it won't hold like a h22 tcu. there are no problems with the tcu. its just a matter of using the one designed for the motor your using.

You can use the accord tranny. It won't blow it up, it just has long gears, and will fall out of vtec between shifts.

If you decide to go auto, just make sure you ask the people you buy your motor from to find you the JDM P13 TCU, the P19. It will probably be about 50 bucks extra, but you will get OD and the ability to turn on "sport mode". Sport mode is simply a circuit in the tcu that, when actived, raises the shift points and holds gears longer, even under partial throttle.

i used my accord one. my swap didn't come with the tcu. i didn't know i even needed it back when i got the work done. and when i said you'd kill the tranny i wasn't referring to blowing up. it will just go out on you faster. the powerband for the h22 is alot more compared to the f22. i tried blowing and dogged my h22 auto tranny just as i did the f22a6 tranny. didn't work out. the tranny held its ground, lol. put a f series on there and you really won't get your money's worth from vtec. i fell out of vtec every single time. perhaps with the p19 i wouldn't have. go for an actually h22 one. only f series tranny i'd match up to the h22 motor is a 5spd one with an ecu mods

This is only a wiring issue. A wire must be run from the TCU to the shift lock solenoid when using the JDM TCU.

I have this swap currently you dont HAVE to run a wire you can jus press the but on the shifter console for the shifter to come out of park then after that you can move it with just the brake but anytime you take it out of park you have to press the button on the shifter consoled in.

Yeah having to do that constantly doesnt sound fun. So instead i found the info on what to do. I guess i have to jump two wires together on the TCU and that should fix the issue since the accord tcu only has one wire for it but the prelude has 2? At least thats what i read. A green with white wire and a White with green wire.

You can just remove the cylinder on the shifter assembly that locks it into park. Should be on the passenger side of the shifter assembly.
