Noise ( to hard to discribe ) while driving or parked, does you honda do it ?
Alright guys I have a 96 accord ex coupe (for thoes that didn't look @ my screen name). I wanted to say I have done a search and have come up with this( https://honda-tech.com/zerosearch )so no help there. This noise is unique to all others I have heard my car make since I had her.(august/2001).The noise is a clicking/ticking/tapping/humming hard to discribe noise. The noise I have been noticing seems to be coming from behind the gauge cluster/steering colum/fuse box next to the foot rest area. so if you are sittiing in your drivers sit it's coming from the leftfront corner of the car. It does not have a pattern that it fallows it just comes on. Sometimes you can baely hear it sometimes it's loud.(loud being the radio at normal listing level to talk radio station/ not listing level to music loud). Sometimes it's making the noise for less then 2 sec's sometimes 20 sec's .I was driving my wife to work this morning the noise started to happen and my wife heard the noise too. She asked me what it was , I inturn looked at her and shrugged my sholders and seid "I dont know" I was surprised too hear that my wife has had that same noise sound from her 2000 civic sedan.(march/2000 she sold it last week). She never mentiond it to me , my wife seid it did not seem like a problem, so she let it go. Me in the other hand I want to know if this is happening to any of you out there , just seemd weird that a 5th gen accord does it and a 2000 civic does it. So maybe all honda's do it .

I am not sure what the noise sounds like eactly, but i think it might be the ABS pump. You have ABS right?

This is one of does times when you less expected you find the answer to your own question. O.k so after 1 1/2 years +, I finally found out what that noise was. It was my wifes i90 motorolla cell phone. It was sending a signal and interfering with the oem radio, the signal would then be amplafide and the noise would come out the speaker on the drivers door. The way I found out it was the cell phone was , i had gone over to my in-laws house , and i whent into one of the guest rooms to use the cell phone . I was talking to my friends on the line and so i turned on the tv, the tv started making the exact sound it was making in my car , i was like "Hell yeah" I noticed it was only makeing the noise when the antena on the cell would touch the side of my head or i would put my finger on the antena.
i hope this helps some one , other then just me.

LOL, it should even make the noise if the radio is turned all the way down, the sound will still transmit thru the speakers. I was next to a truck once and heard his CB radio PERFECTLY clear thru the car stereo... it startled me at first as I didn't have the volume up just the radio was on. Ever left a cell phone below a computer monitor and it starts ringing?? Kinda makes you think if you really should be holding it up to your brain? I use my headset whenever possible.
