Kevlar Clutch Squeek
Hey guys,
I had an ACT extreme kevler clutch installed with an aluminum flywheel a couple of months back, and it works great, but makes noises. When I engage the clutch, I can hear a squeek when friction disc slips on the flywheel. This usually only happens in first and second gears whenever I make a slow start up a hill, or really anytime I slip the clutch putting it into gear. I was wondering if this is normal for kevlar clutches, or if the installers put it in crooked. Does anyone else have this problem? Would a tranny additive like redline help any? It still works fine, but is pretty annoying and maks my car sound crappy. Any help would be appriciated.
Thanks

I have a set of Hawk kevlar pads on my my car too, and I have noticed that they do squeel more than organic pads do. Maybe it is just normal for kevlar friction material. Does anyone else with a kevlar clutch out there have experiances with noisy engagements?

I bought my car not long ago, so I'm not even sure what clutch it has in it but many friends who have driven it say it's aftermarket - I too get a squeak sound while feathering in 1st gear - It's not really a squeak from the inside but sounds like it's coming from the outside and it's rather loud
