How much coolant is needed after flushing it out? About how many gallons do I need to buy?

I flushed my coolant system out last month in my 99 Si. I used about 1.2 gallons, so I picked up 2 gallons of Honda coolant.

 

1.2 gallons total or 1.2 gallons of coolent mixed with water? I usually mix 50/50

 

Honda just came out with pre-mixed Honda coolant called "HG" coolant. HG is their new name for all fluids across the board now. HG stands for Honda Genuine. Now everytime I need to top off the coolant reservoir, I don't have to mix it with water anymore, nice invention hahah.

1.2 gallons total capacity was what I needed. A little spilled when I bled my coolant system, so I'd say it was more like 1.3 gallons.

 

just buy 2 gallons its alwasy good to have extra because you never know when you might have to do head work or take out the radiator to swap a clutch..its always good to have extra fluids for your car
