Default Cheap, reliable source for H3C bulbs for your 5th gen JDM fog lamps...

Your local Acura dealer has them! The 96-98 Acura TLs use H3C bulbs in the integrated fogs in the headlamp assembly. I found this out when one of the lamps in my parents' 96 TL burned out last weekend.

The Acura part number for H3C bulbs is 33165-SM4-003

They are 12v/55W - just like the 1997+ JDM Prelude fogs. They are clear in color and manufactured by Stanley.

Acura list price is $16.65. Acuraautomotiveparts.org sells them for $13.32@. (Which is the cheapest I've ever seen the hard to find H3Cs.) Other dealers may sell them even cheaper...

do the bulbs shine yellow, or is that just due to the tl's headlight housing?

The bulbs that I bought from Acura are clear, white bulbs. The old 96-98 TL's fogs only appear to be gold because the TL's integrated fogs have a yellow filter in the headlamp assembly.

I'd really like a yellow bulb like the IS300 fogs. That really bright lemon color. I think it would look great on my black Lude (of course i'd need JDM fogs first tho! )

PS- does anyone know where to get the best deal on JDM fogs?

for the people that want the yellow bulbs, piaa has a nice set. I think they are called yellow ion or something. here are mine. Thats why I asked if they were yellow, so I could get a cheaper replacement.

The IS300 fog lamp bulbs are actually clear. Like the 96-98 TL, they have yellow filters in the lense to make them look yellow.

I've aways thought that those yellow lamps look horrible. They look like those yellow lights you put on your patio to keep bugs away. But to each his own...
