Howdy. folks! I'm a stranger here but I feel quite comfortable.
I've driven 97 GSR (no mod except tires and wheels) for 2 years here Atlanta. I love this car. Well, I hope I will see you guys often here.

BTW, recently, I have a few problems with her.

1. The electricity cuts and runs again often while driving! The radio turns off for a half second and ABS warning turns on. It's getting worse now! RPM suddenly drops like it is going dead when the electricity dies for a few tenth second. I can't figure out what is the problem.

2. My window rattles when it's open half way down. When it rains and the window gets wet, it makes severe sound while opening or closing.

Well, I would like to know how to fix these.

Sounds like it could be an alternator? How long has this been happening? The voltage regulator could be bad as well.

I'd double check all your connections, especially around your battery right now. Make sure they're clean and solid. If that doesn't fix it, I know places like AutoZone will test your alternator for free.

EDIT: for the window problem...take off the door panel and tighten every bolt you see that holds the track, sounds like one is loose (happened to me a few times on my 95 GSR). It's easy to do.

#1 is the alternator
#2 is a very common problem. Try searching with the search function.

 

Altenator, then check your fuses.

 

ya and i check for open wires, it could be a short to ground.

Could be a loose ground or connection at the battery just as easily.

When it cuts out, you lose power or just radio?

 

i ha dsame problem for a while on my 98 gsr..turned out bad conection on negative side of battery

 

I lose all the power.... Even ABS dies and the warning sign turns out.
