tips on stuck screws on brake rotors
facts:
-this is about the 2 phillip screws that holds the rotors to the hub.
-my screws are virgin screws from the dealer (has never been touched, i.e. no previous rotor work)
-i tried for an hour with an impact tool and couldn't get the damn thing to twitch
-this is with a huge mallet and a snap on impact driver
-yes i'm going counter-clock wise, and yes i'm hammering it very hard for those who may want to make a funny.
?: Does any one have any tips for me?
thanks

well i removed those same screws off of my 94 LS wit a craftsman impact tool from sears and it was the easiest part in my opinion. But EVERYONE else has had exactly the opposite experience from me. I just kind of gave the driver slight counterclockwise pressure as i hit it with the hammer. And i used a regular carpenters hammer not a mallet.
I have the same problem. Tried the impact driver /w hammer and it doesnt budge cuz of rust. I'm going to try with a 10lb sledge next and if that doesnt work im gonna drill the screws out.

Just drill them out and forget about them. Plenty of people run without them at all.
I drilled them out on my Del Sol, and my Wifes Integra both cars have been on track (VIR, Summit CMP) and no problems, imho those little screws are there just to hold the rotor in place when you change tires becaues with your wheel bolted to the lug nuts there is now way they are going any where.

I had the same probelm. I got them out by using a craftsman impact tool to loosen them. Then I still couldn't get them out so I bought an electric impact wrench and then they came out easy. I found that I had to use both tools. When I got them out I had to replace them because the heads were stripped and I was able to find new screws at a True Value hardware store.

Used an impact driver and hammer on my friends DA.
Got the one from craftsmen, and it worked like a charm.
If that fails to work, then things become alot harder and more painful.
Good Luck,
