unorthodox pulley kit?
I have an unorthodox crank pulley on my car. I dunno if it helps any, but, if you have found a good price and already done basic bolt ons then go for it. They look neat!

I dunno what to do with my Unorthodox pulley now. I hear that the weight reduction will increase power then I'm hearing that it will eventually mess up my motor. I haven't installed it yet. What to do?

i had a 98 turbo gs-r with no p/s and no a/c with the UR crank pulley (single pulley) and i liked it. the car was really powerful and i ran the hell out of it and never had a problem. i heard all kinds of stories about them warping cranks, etc, but you can go without a crank pulley if you have a racing battery setup (not for street use). so i have no bad experience and have personally seen no bad stuff happen with them. and every little hp counts, right? i say put it on

I have the aem pulley & noticed an improvement in throttle response, not necessarily hp. I've had no issues & neither have any of my friends after thousands of miles. I think that it was worth it.
i purchased mine cause my oem crank pulley was cracked during shipment of my motor and i figured what the hell? But they are supposed to be able to hold up to about 300hp after that, they blow oil pumps
Here's my 2 cents.
IMO the AEM pulley kit is better. I had UR at one point but took it out. First off ur voltage generated at idle will be lower so if u have a big system in ur car, I wouldn't suggest putting on aftermarket pulleys. CRX's as I see it does not benefit extremely from it - Alternator, crank, a/c at most I believe.
The things u read on harmonic balancing problems and so forth I cannot verify myself as it did not happen to me (I had it on for about6 mos) but I rather not take the risk to find out. IMO, not worth it for the extra 5whp of freed up power.

I guess I can see your point, but the throttle response is noticably better & w/ all teh stuff done to everyone's car such as NO2 & boost, high cr, etc. I really don't see why anyone would fear a pulley?
