Well when my car was broken into, I had a tool box in there with my lugnut key. They took the toolbox So, I have no way to get my locking lugs off. What are my options as far as getting a new key from Acura? Do they have some sort of master key to remove my locking lugs?

Same thing happened to me. Yes they have a Master set. Just take your car into the dealer, they will try all the different type of keys, until one fits, and then if you want you can order the key, its like $16 or something like that.

 

all dealers have a master set for removing the factory McGaurd wheel locks

 

You should have gotten a card with the key code for the lug nut key. There is no 'master key' as far as I know.

 

what happens when you lose your key and its like a mcguard keys and you have two on each rim haha

There's probbaly not a master key, but I believe there's only like 8 design anywayz. Your dealer will have the key.

 

you should also get another set of locks either at the dealer or another shop...you probabaly don't want some one with your lock key running around...good luck

Similair thing happened to me last summer. I just took the car to my friend at Belle Tire and he used the air ratchet and they came straight off.

 

where is that thread? I couldnt find it.

 

I did it the hard way as Paragon Acura in Queens was being a dick not lending me the set to take off the wheels on -site

So, I took it to a tire shop, they drill in a flat channel on the wheel lock and use a flat screw driver to remove it....cost me $10

i got the factory wheel locks with my GSR. the sales person did not put the key in the car. drove to acura, they pulled out a plastic box with all 12 keys and found the right one (Blue) (they are all color coded). cost was 25$ cahrged back to the sales person because they forgot. goto acura get a new one.

 

i'll change the question a little...
would buying locks at regular auto store be cheeper?

 

that happend to my friends car, just take it to the dealership, its pretty expensive from what i remember, not 16 bucks. i think more like 60 bucks. hope it helps
