Car not starting in the rain
This is the second time it happened to me, the first was about a month ago. It rained pretty hard all day and I went to start it, it cranks, but just won't start up. I have a AEM short ram intake that sits rights below the crack in the hood. could this be causing it. If so what should I do. Will the bypass valve help w/ this. Any help is appreciated as I am stranded.
It only seems to have not started when the car sat for several hours in heavy rain. I don't think this would have effected the alternator then. thanks for idea though.
i can hear the FP, it only does it when it rains heavily. Has anyone ever heard of a crack in the distributor cap and when moisture develops in it, the car won't start.
What dist. cap do I need for a b16? 90 integra right?

maybe things are getting wet under the hood check for moisture. Sound like something is getting wet. Especially if its only during havy rains. Why dont you chand the weather strips under the hood that may help.
Sounds a lot like the cap could be cracked. My buddies car did the same thing and it seemed to straighten out when he changed the cap. The main relay is more prone to give problems due to heat rather than moisture.
I have seen the main relay cause problems both heat ranges, cold and hot.....
But I would agree with the ignition as well
Hard to say untill you check your car for spark when it rains and wont' start
and fuel

just curious, is your air filter soaked? that would definately be a problem. The Bypass valve is just for cold air intakes to prevent it from Hydro locking your engine if water gets to your filter.
Now that you mention it, I never put on any weatherstipping onto my hood when I put the carbon fiber one on.
Thanks for all the help though guys, its good to see everyone respond so fast when someone has a problem.
