Are Brand name rims necessary???
Ok this might sound newbie-ish, but if someone has a j spec(JDM STYLE) or real jdm(RHD) car, is it necessary to get real Japanese rims? The reason I ask is that Rota has the infamous MF8 copies, but they're offered in royal black with a polished lip. It would be a waste to kill some Mugens like that, just like one H-T member that did the same color due to a bend after they were fixed and he couldn't even let his set go for $1000. So is it a must when there are other options that might not be real???
Ok well if this is re-worded then I apologize. Anyways, If someone has a real RHD Honda and wanted rims that were black with a polished lip like the Rota MF8 copies, would it be a bad decision to get the Rotas? The reason is that the Mugen wheels should stay the same color, but you have a RHD and you don't like the colors offered. The last guy on H-T couldn't sell his real MF8's cause he painted them after he fixed a dent on them. I didn't think it was the same because the other debate was about U.S. cars with real or fake rims. Basically i'm asking with the rims considered, if you have the RHD is it necessary to get the real rims even if the wont match or they aren't your style. Sorry for the long paragraphs, just want to make sure I explain.
it's not necessary, just get the best for your car! If you want the very best product and want it to hold its value, you will buy the better wheel.
Not downin on Rota or anything, but any wheel maker can make a cast copy of the MF8's, the real forged bronze wheels will hold their worth as long as Hondas are popular! Look at the old school wheels not, people are paying just as much for them now as they did when they first came out in 92!!

Yeah affordability isn't a problem. I just thought that most people would down-play a RHD with non JDM wheels. It's not my concern, but it is one for upcoming projects and on right now by some friends. I just thought that you should go with what you like and not worry about the name and not to spend a lot on Mugen to mess it up... Thanks for the feedback SPOONMAN, EMERICA
